This is all about gun control. If just one of those students or teachers had had a gun, maybe the shooter wouldn't have had control of the situation.

Yes, people do need them. A mother who owned a gun saved she and her baby's life from an intruder who entered her home for the purpose of robbing and killing her. Someone with a gun saved a girl who was being raped on some street. Hundreds and hundreds of cases where responsible people who owned guns saved the lives of others.
Yeah, college kids should have a gun if they want one. And they should go through classes and learn how to responsibly handle one. If anyone was at that school and had a gun they would have saved a lot of those kids lives.
