people are dying from corporate greed>>>>sm - minimumwageworker

[ In Reply To ..]
People are dying because they've lost their homes, their jobs, everything has gone up in price but our wages...people are dying in the tent cities set up across the country because so many live in poverty now due to job losses and low wages....thank you occupy wall streeters!!! Nothing will ever change without protests because all the politicians are basically the same and bought by wall street.....Support the protestors...it's a great start to make change in this country...the bigger it grows the more voice we'll all have!!!

You are unbelievable! I will never support these thugs.nm - '-'

Of course you wouldn't. Cowardly drive-by vacuous one-line slams - is more your style.

What on God's green earth do you imagine you know about class, oh high and mighty one? OWS isn't going way anytime soon. Deal with it.
Nope, I just go about my business and find WORK - instead of wanting to steal from others.nm

I see your one-liners are working just fine. A little hypocritical don't you think?

Well, like it or not, those "thugs" still support YOU, - and your right to free speech.

[ In Reply To ..]
The corporate "royalty" that you worship does not.

So true! If people think the OWS tent cities are "ugly" - to look at, they should ride - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
CalTrain into SF someday, and see the growing homeless tent-and-cardboard box "suburbia" in the tunnels and freeway underpasses in the Bayview.

Or ride along the American River Bikeway in Sacramento someday and count the number of homeless living in the bushes near the river.

OWS encampments are puny in comparison.

Once again, your news source is flawed. The shooting - in Oakland was not OWS-related. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, a person near OWS was shot. But,
1) It did NOT happen in the OWS camp, but in the same general vicinity of the city.
2) The attackers were not related to OWS in any way, either for or against. Once again, it was OUTSIDERS - in this case likely a gang. Oakland is s tough town. There are gangs. There are murders.
3) The whiny, sniveling police request to "shut down the protest because it was detracting them from policing REAL crimes" was ridiculous. OWS didn't ask them to be there, the city did. They were not needed. OWS was not committing any crimes, unless one considers "tent-pitching" a crime. They were free to police more urgent events in Oakland any old time they wished, but instead they chose to bully peaceful protesters.

Never in this country's history has the so-called "mainstream" media been so slanted, so off-base, so full of lies and misrepresentations as it is today. That is because the news, like everything else in this country, is CONTROLLED BY CORPORATE INTERESTS AND MONEY. Their salaries are paid by Big Business, so of course they only tell us what the CORPORATIONS want us to hear.

American is being fed a bunch of you-know-what. They more misled and in the dark we are about what is really happening to our country, the easier we are controlled by corporate America.

That's the main point that OWS stands for. We want greedy CEOs' hands out of our pockets. We want their hands out of our ballot boxes. We want a true democracy - something that is gradually being chipped-away at every day. And we want a free and unbiased press - something we haven't seen in about a decade. You have to dig deeper than just the local news paper or the 6 o'clock news, if you want to know what is REALLY happening.

Complacency is compliance.

OWS is a complete failure, has injured people, and - caused destruction.. FACTS. nm

Hate to break this to ya, but awareness of - and support for OWS has increased

[ In Reply To ..]
over the past month, as shown in poll after poll after poll while, at the same time, support for the TP movement is on the decline, BIGTIME (not that they ever really had much of it to begin with, yet it is STILL declining). Let me put it to you this way. OWS has more support for its movement after 55 days than the TP has been able to muster after 2 years of chronic bellyaching and intractable legislative obstruction, which is as it should be.

Troll, you have no power here! Now begone~ - :p

Dying Breed - Who Killed the Responsible Republican? Bill Kristol, of course. By Jacob WeisbergUpdated Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 7:14 AM ET Do you remember the Responsible Republicans? In the 1980s, small herds of them still roamed freely around Washington. In 1982, they stampeded over Ronald Reagan's veto of the largest tax increase in history to mitigate the fiscal harm of his 1981 tax cut. In 1983, they converged on Capitol Hill to pass a package of tax increases and benefit c ...

Our Democracy Is DyingDec 15, 2014
In case anybody hasn't noticed, democracy in America is dying now. This isn't an overstatement; it's a fact. Corporate interests dominate our politics so much at this point that our government, for all intents and purposes, is merely its handmaiden. Whatever Wall Street wants, Wall Street gets. Corporatism is the new order of the day. One political party stands for it; the other political party won't stand against it. The word inertia means the tendency of an object to move ...

Ten Ways The Occupy Movement Changes EverythingNov 14, 2011
Before the Occupy Wall Street movement, there was little discussion of the outsized power of Wall Street and the diminishing fortunes of the middle class. The media blackout was especially remarkable given that issues like jobs and corporate influence on elections topped the list of concerns for most Americans. Occupy Wall Street changed that. In fact, it may represent the best hope in years that “we the people” will step up to take on the critical challenges of our tim ...

Why Do You Think There Are Protests In Nov 26, 2014
Surely they do not really care that much about Michael Brown or Darren Wilson personally.  Do you think it is all unjustified protesting?  Michael Brown ISSUE was a spark to a movement.  This movement represents 2 things: 1.  Racial discrimination by police/authority and society in the U.S. 2.  Police aggression and brutality/over-reaction, frequently against people of color (brown and tan).   Obviously, the extreme looting/burning in St. Louis is out of line.&n ...

Protesters Occupy Sen. Chuck Schumer's CapitolNov 15, 2016
About 40 people have occupied Sen. Obama Needs To Stay At The WH During Middle East ProtestsSep 13, 2012
This article is by Scott Paulson and over the attacks and I completely agree with him. Following protests in the capital of Egypt this week, the deadly attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya that took the life of four Americans yesterday, and the latest aggressive protests at the U.S. Embassy in Yemen’s capital that are occurring today, President Barack Obama needs to stay in Washington, D.C., suspend campaigning, and address the threats against Americans in the Middle East. France Bans Protests Against Blasphemous Cartoons!Sep 22, 2012
PARIS: France banned protests on Friday against cartoons published by a satirical weekly denigrating Islam’s Prophet Mohammad as part of a security clamp-down while prayers took place across the Muslim world. The country’s Muslim population, drawn largely from ex-colonies in North and West Africa, shrugged off the controversy as imams in mosques denounced the pictures but urged their followers to remain calm. The drawings have stoked a furore over an anti-Islam film made in Ca ...
