Minutes after debt ceiling is raised, Obama shows up SM

a list of things to spend money on. We are on the brink of something. You can blame it on anyone you want, but prepare yourself.
On March 16th of 2006, Reid took the Senate floor and delivered a speech on how raising the debt ceiling was part of an “unprecedented and dangerous borrowing spree.”

This debt is unsustainable. Do some prepping now because when the SHFT, the unprepared will look like a migrating herd of snorlax foraging for food. ;

nonperishables, because at some point this will come to a head. Nothing Obama does sticks to him. It's always blamed on someone else. He's always campaigning and never leading. It's an upside down world.
So when something big does happen, I admit I will feel a bit of schadenfreude for those of you who don't listen.
Bush's wars totalled over 3 trillion. Yes, let's put the blame where - it belongs NM

hoarding is not healthy
Neither is it healthy to relish the idea of "stuff" hitting the fan so that one can wallow - in schadenfreude. Oy.

America's "official" language.
If you do, would you mind WRITING your posts in English so that we can all share in them, or is this a way you can communicate with certain people while keeping the "undesirables" away?
LOL! It sounds sort of "Russian" (sm) - Libby

...or maybe German??
Since I really don't think that English should be the ''official'' language - oy

I guess I can continue to reply in any language I choose then? (not really following your logic; if I was a big "English is best" or English-only nut, why would I reply the way I did?)
I responded to the prepper's self-righteous and snarky (in my opinion) German reply in Yiddish, which I thought was appropriate under the circumstances for various reasons (including the fact that the German reply was apparently at least partly or wholly in reaction to my originally saying "Oy"). It's a saying that's easily google-able.
Thank you for the explanation. I do appreciate it. (nm) - Libby

I am a liberal. Hence, the moniker - LIBBY. (nm)

I actually have different views on different topics. I don't fall in step with one party or the other. I've voted Republican several times during my life, though I've mostly voted Democrat.
Were you really interested in receiving an answer to your question, or were you just taking the opportunity to insult me? I honestly can't tell.
You misunderstood my intent again. I think it's best that I just bow out now. - oy

would invite you to set me straight. And I don't think you need to "bow out" of anywhere. You have as much right to be on this board as anyone else.
Again, I apologize and would welcome very much a clarification so I can apologize again, if need be. :-)

I can tell you that my family will be "prepping" from now on. Most of us honest folks haven't a chance against the hoard of handout takers once they decide to loot the stores. We can just ride it out in our bunkers until the rest of them starve and/or obliterate each other.
Call me crazy all you like. I'm not blind to the possibilities.

We review the effects as forecasted by economists and ask “Should you worry?” The answer, in short: Yes, probably so.

How The Supreme Court Can Resolve The Debt Ceiling CrisisOct 14, 2013Adam H. Rosenzweig from the Washington University School of Law proposes a different approach to ending the debt ceiling crisis: Let the Supreme Court resolve it as a Constitutional matter.
What should happen when Congress and the President find themselves in a fiscal policy showdown resulting in a Constitutional violation? This question has risen to the fore in light of the recent political showdowns over the so-called “debt ceiling” crisis.

Enter The 14th Amendment Remedy For Debt Ceiling Debaucle.Jun 28, 2011For all those strict adherents to the Constitution, take note of Section 4:
Section. 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.
