if Obama were on his way to a dictatorship, executive orders would be a good start, don't you think? He already thinks he is King.

debt ceiling is. It's like you charge your credit card and then decide not to pay your debt. This is debt that was agreed upon in Congress. I guess if you watch Fox, you might be confused.

People are so stupid, so ignorant, that Communism will swallow them whole and they won't even know it. I'm amazed everyday.
Ummm, the debt ceiling is a decidedly capitalist concept. - that involves its most

basic principles of the accumulation of wealth vs ballooning debt and interest rates. It's simple stuff. Loan defaults degrade credit standing which, in turn, leads consumers and nations alike down the path to bankruptcy.
that's okay - the communism remarks are - dearly held preferences - nothing more

it's not about reality, particularly for those who spout about communism.

if it was the debt ceiling problem you couldn't discuss, "commie" has nothing to do with it. If it was OP calling America a dictatorship you couldn't discuss, please note that communism as played out in Eastern Europe/Asia was not a dictatorship. Apples and oranges.

[ In Reply To ..]
The continued hate for Obama is no longer astounding to me. Where was all the outrage when Bush was president? Starting 2 UNFUNDED wars? Huh? Where were all the so-called fiscal conservatives then? Did you talk about EOs when Bush was president? Were you upset by them?
Let's not forget most had "but this law doesn't apply - to me" (not verbatim :), at the bottom. sm

If anyone failed to hear about that little detail during Bush's 2 terms and doesn't believe it, just look it up.
Ah, yes. It's all Bush's fault! - Thanks for the reminder.

into our system so that the President can function without being blocked at every turn, and lately, yes, presidential power has increased, beginning under Bush II and continuing under Obama. To call this a dictatorship is wildly incorrect, though, and a grave insult to your country.
We do have something wonderful worth protecting, and IMO people incapable of realizing that, who'd just throw it away in some sort of malcontent pique, should consider withdrawing from involvement.
Senator Serrano (D-NY) is proposing - Bill HJ RES 15
[ In Reply To ..]
to repeal the term limits law (22nd amendment). That would pave the way toward a third term, or possibly even dictatorship, I guess.
And Rep Steve King introduced HJ RES 16 - bootstraps
[ In Reply To ..]
to repeal income taxes. That would pave the way for economic destruction of our country, even takeover by another country, I guess.
This has a better chance actually than HJ RES 15 since Republicans have the majority in the House.
Serrano belongs to the House, not Senate - just in case

someone wants to do a search and can't find a Senator Serrano.

How The Supreme Court Can Resolve The Debt Ceiling CrisisOct 14, 2013Adam H. Rosenzweig from the Washington University School of Law proposes a different approach to ending the debt ceiling crisis: Let the Supreme Court resolve it as a Constitutional matter.

Enter The 14th Amendment Remedy For Debt Ceiling Debaucle.Jun 28, 2011For all those strict adherents to the Constitution, take note of Section 4:
