National Review editor urges Jeb to run
By: CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) – Fresh off putting Jeb Bush on the cover of his magazine this week, National Review Editor Rich Lowry is now actively urging the younger brother of the former president to seek the White House himself - now.

Writing on the National Review’s website Monday, Lowry says it’s now or never for the popular former Florida governor who has already explicitly ruled at a 2012 bid, saying waiting four years will risk diminishing his legacy while a bumper crop of new Republican leaders emerge.

“Four years after leaving the Florida governor’s mansion, he remains one of the most impressive Republican politicians in the country, a formidable policy mind with the political chops to drive conservative reforms even out of office. So why isn’t he running for president?” asks Lowry.

Lowry lists eight reasons why Bush must and should run this presidential election cycle, including his belief that 2016 will prove too late for the younger Bush who at that point will have been out of office for 10 years.

“No doubt he will have made many contributions to the cause in the interim, but by then his main credential — his governorship and its accomplishments — will seem like yesterday’s news. Right now he has the feel of an elder statesman of the party while his time in office is still fresh,” writes Lowry.

Other reasons Lowry says Bush should run now: “The Bush rehabilitation has begun,” “He’s not just another Bush,” and “Waiting is almost always a mistake.”

Bush rehab has begun? Really? - What IS this guy smoking?

Bush the third? Guess that Palin thingy isnt working for them after all. This is any excellent idea for 2012 if you want to see Obama top his 2008 numbers.

I really wish people would stop pushing others to run - see message

Lowry is a NR Editor. He has no business pushing any politician to run. Let along JB. Sure JB is much better than his brother, but we don't need any more Bush's in the WH. Especially when you read about their family going all the way back to gran-daddy.

As for SP. I really wish she would stay home and quit sticking her nose where it don't belong. I don't trust her. Reading about who groomed her is fascinating and eye opening.

We need new faces in the white house. Politicians who are not as crooked as what we already have had.

Please provide info on where you read who groomed SP. - Zville MT

I would be very interested in reading that. I'm with you about her staying home - she's too polarizing a figure for the WH.

Sorry, forgot about this message and was just reading down - see message

I'll post where to find the info. You can either believe it or not, but there is something about her I just don't trust. It's weird because until about a month or two ago I defended her until the end. Can't tell you how many arguments I got into on this board defending her. LOL But I've just been reading a lot of stuff and something just doesn't sit right with me, and it has nothing to do with her kids, or that she quit her job, or what clothes she wears, who paid for them, or her special needs child. What I read can seem to some like its a bit far fetched (and am sure I'll get the responses like where'd you read that, the National Enquirer LOL), but if its the truth it's just I don't know. The information is out there. I just happened to come across it when I clicked on a link, then another link, then another link. I don't like to put links (call me paranoid), but in google type in anatomy of sarah palin, then read the article by intheknow7.

I've been reading your posts for some time and agree with you on a lot of issues, so would like to know what you think of this.
I just don't know about that stuff. - Zville MT

Yeah, it could be all true (which is kinda scary), but how many years has there been talk about secret organizations grooming men to be president? Skull and Crossbones, even the Masons. It could happen and I wouldn't put it past some people, but I don't know how far I'd go in believing it at this point.

Personally, I like her, but not as a politician. She's just too much of a 'this is the way it is and if you don't like it, you can kiss it' type of person. You can't have a president, or vice president for that matter, being so polarizing - this is something I also don't like about Obama, though not quite to her extent.

Thanks for sending me in the direction of that information. I read the one on intheknow7, but I'm going to go back and click on a few more links, too. Let's keep our fingers crossed she opts out of a run in 2012 ;)

I Will Be So Glad When The 2012 Election Is OverFeb 29, 2012
I'm to the point where we will either have a republican in the White House who doesn't have a clue or the cajones to do right by the American people....or we will have another 4 years of President Obama who has done very little but spend spend spend...which I grant that Bush started but Obama has taken it to a whole new level.  I'm so discouraged by our choices and I just want it over with.  I personally feel like nothing great will happen to our country either way the e ...

In the near-absence of any sign that Sarah Palin is actively considering a GOP primary campaign, the good folks at Conservatives4Palin come up with this alternative scenario to keep hope alive: [T]he possibility of an independent run does make sense and to delay the anouncement of her candidacy may simply be part of a bigger plan. Sarah Palin promised this to be a very unconventional election cycle. Creating a third party fits that narrative. ... Political parties always fear a rogue thi ...

Poll: Americans Say We'd Be Better Off If Mitt Romney Won In 2012Jul 03, 2014
While Obama beat Romney by 4 percentage points, voters say a do-over in the 2012 election wouldn't be a bad thing. "Would Mitt (Romney) have been a better fit? More voters in hindsight say yes," Malloy said. President Obama Took Credit In 2012 For Withdrawing The TroopsJun 21, 2014
The last two paragraphs are the most interesting. This is why Obama may go down in history as a liar-in-chief. This just proves how he is so incompetent. Too bad the double standard only works for Democrats and too bad the Democrats can't see truth even when it hits them on the head. President Obama took credit in 2012 for withdrawing all troops from Iraq. Today he said something different. June 19 President Obama surprised a few people during a news conference Thursday by clai ...
