By all indicators, jobs are the furthest things from their minds. They have done everything in their power to stop progress in that arena and, in fact, often show open hostility at the very mention of the issue. The current GOP bookseller, whoops, I mean frontrunner, tells us the jobless need to blame themselves. I think that just about sums up GOP insensitivity toward millions of Americans and their families and the disconnect between their partisan agendas and the nation's most basic of economic needs. Opinion polls scream this message day in and day out, but it continues falling on deaf ears.

There are bad in all parties. You group everyone together when in fact there are good and bad in all parties. The current socialists, oops I mean democrats, are doing nothing to help the people of the country and that sums up the democrats insensitivity towards millions of Americans and their families and the disconnect between their partisan agenda and the nation's most basic of economic needs. See it works both ways. I just repeated what you had said because you just summed up the democrats in charge, however, using GOP, when in fact what you wrote described to a T the people in the democrat party in charge now. Nobody in any party has shown they care about getting people back to work. I don't have much faith in the GOP, but I have less faith in the current crowd.
Not admitting there is wrong in both parties is what I don't understand.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery - but
[ In Reply To ..]
as an effective counter-point, it pretty much sucks, and fails miserably at making a convincing argument or adding anything viable to the dialog. I see you removed a crucial part of the context in your not so clever attempt at paraphase, so typical of GOP propaganda spiels. The GOP frontrunner flavor of the week has shown open hostility toward the plight of jobless folks on numerous occasions, as have virtully all GOP representatives in both the House and the Senate, who predictably vote en bloc to block every single jobs inititive that comes their way.
Evidently you are quite aware of that fact, since you did not try to call into question the veracity of the example I provided (Cain: Unemployed should blame themselves), and had to resort to tiresome worn-out generic name-calling and table-turning, instead of simply admitting to what the rest of the nation has known for quite some time. No matter how hard you try to claim otherwise, poll after poll after poll tells us with which party they associate the words "obstrutionists" and "filibuster." For the sake of absolute clarity, that party would be the GOP. Despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of both democrat and republican voters polled identify jobs as their number one priority, the GOP has prioritized everything BUT jobs in their agendas, starting with culturally divisive social engineering inititives, then shifting to debt and balanced budget flops that ended up kicking those cans down the road until the November deadline, which they seem to be ignoring. One only has to check the Congressional record to showcase their actions and lack thereof.
I could care less whether you can or cannot admit these truths, but I can assure you that the impasse has not gone unnoticed by the electorate at large, and the frustration they feel over accoutability is beginning to spill out into the streets, another fact you can try to deny, yet will inevitably fail to make disappear.

I'm too tired. I will say I agree with you on some issues you brought up and disagree with you on others.
Another reason I won't go into detail is I prefer not to engage in dialog with people who have an open hostility towards those not in their political party, so I prefer just not to discuss this any further.
So I will just have to say I agree on some of your points and disagree on others.
Neither side is perfect and neither side has shown they care anything about the "common" people like me, but when you cannot admit the wrong in your own party it's just very sad, because there is. Nobody in this administration has shown they care about the people of the country, and that has nothing to do with the GOP. It has everything to do with their voting record and what they are doing while in office.
Hint: If you learn to show respect, that is what you will get - in return.
[ In Reply To ..]
While you are at it, try to eliminate all the assumptions and personal digs that only diminish your stance. You may be surprised at the results. On this forum, folks tend to dish out what has been thrown in their face and generally will return respectful dialog in kind.
Huh? That just doen't make sense - just sayin
[ In Reply To ..]
The post that the hostile poster replied to did not warrant hostility. The post repeated what the OP said and all of a sudden the one repeating is not showing respect???? When the poster who showed hostility towards GOP and anyone else not in her club that was warranted? But when someone replies back not hostile AND agreeing with some of what the poster said that's not good enough. Great scam ya got there.
So let me repeat, the OP posted a message, the poster replied using the same exact wording, only replaced GOP with democrats, then a poster replied with a hostile post and when that is pointed out that poster is accused of not showing respect?????
Get a grip!
The only hostility worthy of mention within - the context of political dialog is
[ In Reply To ..]
the same hostility both you and the poster you are defending are intent upon avoiding, that being Cain's attitude toward the middle and working class unemployed. You can try turning that around, personalizing it and aiming it at the messenger til the cows come home, but will only succeed in exposing the utter futility of launching sporadic red herrings sniper fire which always misses its mark.
Cain is the GOP frontrunner of the week, implying that the sentiments he expresses are representative of HIS party, not the opposition, and in their usual style, his constituents and their current reps are lapping it up like there's no tomorrow, and showing their true colors when it comes to the disdain and blatent disregard they AND THEIR PARTY hold for the unemployed, underemployed, and underpaid folks all across the country. Neither of you are dealing with these facts since, at the end of the day, there simply is no effective defense for a party's being so desperate that they would be willing to tank the economy and prolong suffering of millions of people and their families over their own inability to GET A GRIP on their lust for power and collective 2008 sore losership. It's been three years...more than enough time to get over themselves and get down to the business of doing their jobs. Their intent to avoid that at all costs became more obvious than ever before, the moment they published their 2012 calendar, with only 109 days slated for even showing up, and a predictable agenda of just say no to jobs waiting around every corner.
Who is tanking the economy? - sm

The president does not have the power to pass bills. It is the job of Congress to pass bills. The president can introduce bills, sign them once they have been passed by Congress, and can veto them.

Give people enough time to reply to the post. Or maybe you are just replying to your own post. It's a Sunday afternoon for Pete's sake, we don't all sit around staring at our computers hitting the refresh button every 10 seconds to make sure someone didn't write a reply that we must answer within your allotted time frame.
And yes, of course she knew he doesn't have the power to pass bills. He does however introduce them, sign/veto. We all know that. So nothing to add to the conversation except to be the word police and point out someone wrote passed instead of introduced.
One thing for sure is the poster was correct. Every thing he has introduced has been a failure, and also some of the bills that he introduced and congress passed has been a failure.
But for Pete's sake give people a break on a Sunday afternoon. Some of us do have families and lives.

Boehner did not campaign for president and promise he'd get jobs back that were lost under Bush (though the fact is it started under Clinton). Boehner didn't stand at the podiums promising the people this and that if they voted for him. So you need to be asking the correct question, which is "Where are the jobs, Obama?".
What are you talking about? - Bonehead

Obama has no ideas to create jobs. No plans except - to waste more money. Needs voted out.nm
