During the Obama years, we have crossed a threshold. Here is what has changed
1. Expressing traditional Christian views on sexual morality can get you fired, cause you to lose your business, subject you to Draconian fines, or have your reputation ruined.
2. Owning a gun, or defending the 2nd Amendment, can cause you to be labeled a "terrorist" by some mainstream media outlets.
3. Any public statement which diverges from liberal orthodoxy - on any issue - can ruin your personal life or destroy your business. I know someone who was accused of harassment at work because of his conservatives views.

I wondered if the same South Carolina Republicans who voted against aid to those in NY and NJ after Hurricane Sandy will have their hands out for federal aid now that epic flooding has taken a toll on their state. It's a valid question. I certainly hope SC gets as much federal aid as they need. I just wish the same consideration would have been given to those whose lives were affected by Hurricane Sandy, mine included.
