I would encourage you to watch Sky News about the fire. You will see how the politicians there are taking a lot of hatred from the victims of that high rise fire. They hate PM May. The Queen came out right away as did the one running against the PM. She waited till today. Anyway, you can watch it live or slide the slider back to the beginning and you can watch what has been on all day. It is very interesting. The death toll is now 30 and they are missing 70 more. I think there were between 400-600 living there in 120 apartments. The overriding error they made was telling people to stay in their apartments. No way would I stay where there was fire. I heard a fireman tell what he had to deal with while fighting that horrid fire. They still are afraid that the building will collapse and so other areas near there have been evacuated making more homeless. The kindness of others is shown as well. They mentioned how a lot of these people were children still in the building. They heard people begging for help as well as seeing people jumping and one woman dropping her baby hoping that someone would catch it and save it from the flames. They said that when the contractor renovated the building last year - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]that he used a flammable insulation on the outside of the building instead of the more expensive inflammable stuff. I even said to my hubs the morning they showed the fire that it just went up too quick to have had materials that were flame resistant and he thought they probably didn't have any firewalls between the floors either.
The contractor should be arrested for murder. BTW, I noticed another apartment building not far from the one that burned. Hopefully, that building wasn't renovated (if it was) by the same contractor.
