It is a felony to try to set someone’s hair on fire. Felony assault, battery and arson. I’m not sure America has seen “protests” this ugly since before Ronald Reagan even.

Those who weren't around at the time won't recall that Reagan was intensely despised by the media, the intelligentsia, and the educational establishment. All of them waged a non-stop campaign during the 1980 election season to convince people that electing Ronald Reagan president would be the equivalent of signing a nuclear holocaust death warrant and he'd starve them to death by cutting government spending.

I also remember when California University students had a candle light march to celebrate the takeover of Cambodia by Pol Pot, the murderer. (The Killing Fields guy).

During the 1980 campaign, Carter predict there would be race war if Reagan won.

Now, when Kennedy was shot (1963) our entire high school was in shock!

Look how far we have fallen in civility.

Agree with you, dangerous times. One possible way to end the violence would be to activate the draft. The law is there. Every male is supposed to register at the time of their 18th birthday. Adding women to this could be accomplished by a vote of congress. Then when the people with this destructive behavior are arrested, if they have not registered they would be given jail time. There are a whole list of things they would be ineligible for if convicted of not registering. The laws are there, they just need to be used. Instead of using violence to try to destroy our country and our laws, enforcement of registration and re-enactment of a draft would give them something to do, i.e., protect our borders or defend freedom, not destroy it. It would also put a major crimp in the plans of the "person" or "persons" who are funding these idiots. Just my take on it.

The draft? Seriously? That is totally not the way to do things. Remember what happened in the '60s? Since your moniker is Granny, I guess you might. I'm sure Trump does because he got out of serving too. If he wants to build up his military to start another civil war, he can just do it with those who volunteer to do so.
