The tax extension vote is on income only up to $250,000.

I missed the final vote cause I looked away for a moment.

That would be the tax cuts for the middle class? - nm

tax cuts in place for 2 years. That is, if the DINOs cave.
Your bet has been in the news for a while - now

Here's just one article. I bet Obama and the dems will get no credit at all for compromising. That's my bet.

credit is due. I got the idea from the David Corn article someone posted earlier this week, the shot across the moderate and conservative bow so to speak (calling them DINOs and accusing them of caving). I said then and say it now. Good for you, DINOs, for representing the people who voted for you instead of the DNC. And if they do go ahead and compromise and vote against excluding people making $250,000 from the extended tax cuts, then again, I say GOOD FOR THEM! I don't give a fig about political parties and think they have become more DEstructive than PROductive.

Still...I will be first in line to give kudos to the Dems who are not "caving in" in my estimation, but STANDING UP, if they vote to extend.

It appears - that
[ In Reply To ..]
you have a skewed sense of what "the people" want. It also appears that political parties are hated in name only. Maybe you could start using the term HINO.
Were you absent during the midterms? - sam

And look at the tone of my post and yours...easy to see where the hate lies. Were you unpopular in high school or something?

I did not coin the term DINO. David Corn did. Big time leftist. One of YOUR guys. Oh but you probably think they are DINOs too and should be shot at sunrise if they don't vote with "the party."

You don't realize how indoctrinated you are and boy is THAT the scary part. You are the hater here, friend. And you really need to try to get a handle on that.
See blanket assumptions - post

is skewed. You see everything colored by your hate. Was the high school comment called for? "Sam the Reformer" LOL. I do not know who David Corn is, but I doubt that if he is such a huge \"leftist\", he is not a real spokesman of the Democratic party, just as Rush L., Beck, and Palin are not true spokespeople for the Conservatives.
I did not know who he was either until someone.... - sam
[ In Reply To ..]
posted an article of his earlier this week and I then did research on him. Again, you ignore my post and call me a hater when I was giving KUDOs to any Democrat willing to stand up and vote against the prevailing \"party wisdom\" for tax cuts extension for EVERY American. Where, pray tell, is the hate in that??

I would say hate is in targeting one person who disagrees with you like a pack of snapping dogs...which is what happens to me every time I post something. This thread is no different.

You folks target a person who disagrees with you and go after them tooth and nail. Apparently that is what floats your boat, so by all means, have at it...just don\'t get affronted when I give back as good as I get.

Methinks you need to look up the defintion of hate and take a good long look at yourself.
You seem to see stuff that is not there - just saying

see post I just posted about the Democratic losses in the midterms and you tell me what that means what what about it I am not "seeing."
There are blanket assumptions - being
[ In Reply To ..]
made about what the midterms meant. The thought behind this blanket assumption is far too simple and being driven by hammer heads. We will just have to see how it plays out, since there is no way to reason with a person who thinks "do this, don't do that" is as simple as those words are.

I give you my permission to have the last word. Hammer away.
Not a hammer...simple facts. - sam

Please take a look at this:

The Democrats lost 63 (that could change when recounts are done, it could go up) seats in the House of Representatives. The last time that happened in that amount was in 1939. That is not skewed and if that is not an indictment of how things are being done in Washington, please let me know what that is.

Republicans took 11 governorships from the Democrats (Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Maine, Michigan, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Wyoming). An independent won one governorship previously held by Republicans (in Rhode Island), while Republicans won one governorship previously held by an independent (in Florida). Thus, Republicans held a majority of governorships for the first time since before the 2006 elections.

Now tell me how my impression of the midterms was skewed. What do YOU think caused this? People forgot Bush was the problem?

Seriously...you cannot be in that much denial. Those figures above were not accomplished by just Republicans and Independents. Some Democrats had to cross over too.

So please, tell me. All those people just really don't understand that the present situation is all the Republicans' fault...is that what you are trying to say?
Simple - indeed.

More than your "facts."

This is one article: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is promising an up-or-down vote on the $61 billion in budget cuts passed by House Republicans — just to show that version of the spending bill is “dead” – even if the upper chamber has to debate until 1 a.m. to prove the point. “I hope we have a vote on this today,” said Reid to reporters. “If not, we’re going to go through all this procedural process. House Defeats TPA By A Huge Vote.Jun 12, 2015
The vote was 302-126. The House killed a worker aid bill that was tied to the president's main agenda item -- legislation that would give Obama "fast-track" authority to negotiate trade deals. Without it, the trade push withers for now. The vote marked a stunning blow for the president at the hands of his own party, with Nancy Pelosi and labor unions helping drive the stake into the legislation in the end. The biggest defection for Obama came when Pelosi joined the rebellion in opposi ...

House May Vote On Bill Tonight. Back To Teetering On Edge.Jan 01, 2013
1. House conservatives opposed want to add $300 billion in spending cuts that the Senate deferred for 60 days. This would kill the bill for now. House Whip supposedly looking for the 217 votes that would be needed to add the amendment.  2. If the 217 votes are not found, Speaker Boehner is telling his caucus he would like to put the bill (without addition of a kill-it-dead amendment) to the House for an up-or-down vote. If that happened, moderate GOP and Dems would come together to almost ...

TP Gets Its Wish--Thanks To Bush's Tax Cuts.Aug 05, 2011
Quote from S&P on downgrade: Compared with previous projections, our revised base case scenario now assumes that the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, due to expire by the end of 2012,remain in place. We have changed our assumption on this because the majority of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise revenues, a position we believe Congress reinforced by passing the act. ...

What The Majority Of The People Want Re Tax CutsDec 03, 2010

So a majority -- 51 percent -- backed either the Democratic position or wants all the cuts to expire." ...

Tax Cuts Passed 277-148 And Reid/OmnibusDec 17, 2010
They worked late into the night to pass it. It will cost $858 billion but it gives everyone a "breather" for a while. Reid pulled the Omnibus bill off the table; i.e., just died. John McCain, Tom Coburn, and Jim DeMint were the reason because they wanted the bill read page per page. Dems Considering Keeping Bush Tax CutsJul 22, 2010
Democrats are considering a plan to delay tax hikes on the wealthy for two years because the economic recovery is slow and they fear getting crushed in November’s election.  It could mean a big reprieve for families earning $250,000 and above annually.  President George W. Bush’s tax cuts will expire at the end of the year unless Congress acts to delay their sunset.  Some Democrats are now arguing forcefully that a delay is a win-win plan that would help the federal ...

Not Romney But OBAMA Proposes Cuts To FEMA!!Oct 30, 2012
See pages 94-96 of Obama's sequestration budget plan.  Yes, Romney believes that FEMA has been over-funded for the results that we've actually gotten from the agency (which are perfectly miserable) - but the difference is, Romney plans to redistribute the money to the states and it isn't therefore a cut to emergency funding.  Under Obama's plan, the money would be used to fund OBAMACARE. Sen. Paul Uses 3rd Grade Math To Explain How Tax CutsJun 24, 2017
On Friday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC panelist Donny Deutsch pushed the typical liberal “tax cuts for the rich” narrative as he slammed the Republican health care reform bill: "The other side of the aisle will call this as a redistribution of wealth. Obviously, parties are given to hyperbole, but the reality according to the Center [for] Tax Policy is that 90 percent of the benefits in this plan go to families making $700,000 a year or more, the one percent. That is a fiscal reality." He demanded ...
