she didn't sign her newborn over to the Church's adoption agency after it's birth, since Mormons think adoption is preferrable to single parenting. He pulled rank on 23yo parishioner, Peggy Hayes, in the name of "religious counseling," during a home visit. When she dared to show her dismay, he threatened her with excommunication, which would in turn make her ineligibly for entrance past the Pearly Gates, and sentence her to an eternity of burning in he!!.
Of course, he's denied this, but after seeing Ms. Hayes in an interview, and in view of the multiple trust issues that have arisen during the campaign, I find her story to be 100% credible, especially in light of the platform up for adoption he's been excused from actually running on.
;Latter-day Saints can face excommunication if, after being warned, they continue to publicly discuss or display problematic or provocative elements of Mormon theology. Because disciplinary councils that can lead to excommunication are always private, the process of gathering information and the closed meetings that consider the fate of a disciplined member add to the perception of Mormon secrecy. In other words, the subject under scrutiny is not allowed to have any input into the process. Can you say Salem witch trials? The LDS Church continues to use excommunication as a tool to threaten, control, discipline and expel its members.
Furthermore, the founding premise on single parenthood so-called counseling is that when a couple conceives a child outside of marriage, the consequence of that sexual relationship “affects many people.” Excuse me, but family planning is one of the most private and intimate domains a couple shares. Nonetheless, when unwed parents are unwilling to marry, they are "encouraged" to place the child for adoption, preferably through LDS Social Services.
Ms. Hayes was there. You weren't. She knew the Romneys personally as she had been their nanny. You've never laid eyes on them in person. She was quite clear on what SHE felt he was doing during his so-called counseling service. Losing her place in heaven via excommunication from LDS and the implicit fate of burning in he!! was definitely what she gathered from the encounter.
I told the whole story when I included the statement that Romney denied her account. What I didn't do is edit her words or report anything that did not come directly from her own version of the events. The idea that you would minimize this incident or otherwise try casting aspersons on her without even having seen the interview speaks for itself.
Wow. How dare you presume you know who she does or doesn't want to be elected? She worked for them. She knows the Romneys personally, so its quite possible she does support his candidacy. BTW, it's highly unlikely LDS teachings include lying one's behind off for political gain. The only thing she really wanted was for Bishop Romney and LDS to keep their hands off HER BABY. She was deemed good enough to take care of HIS children, but not good enough to take care of her own. The last thing that woman felt was "encouraged." This hypocrisy alone is off the charts.
Research to your heart's content but, all things considered, I think its time for Romney to step up to the plate and offer HIS proof about HIS versions of what happened and what didn't, and I'm not talking about this one incident. Until he does, it will be left up to the public to draw their own conclusions based on the preponderance of the LACK of evidence.
