13 Facts About Ferguson the Media Will Never Tell You

According to protesters who erupted in violence after a grand jury declined to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., this was the case of a white policeman shooting an unarmed black teenager with his hands in the air in a community plagued by racial tension.
That's an account promoted by many in the mainstream media as well. But here are several facts about the case that are harder to find:
1. Surveillance video showed that shortly before the confrontation, 18-year-old Brown stole cigarillos from a convenience store and shoved a clerk who tried to stop him.
2. The autopsy report showed that Brown had marijuana in his system when he died.
3. Officer Wilson, driving to the call of a medical emergency, first encountered Brown walking in the middle of a street and told Brown and his friend to walk on the sidewalk. Brown responded with an expletive.
4. Wilson chose to confront Brown only after he saw the cigarillos in his hand and recalled the radio report of a robbery at the convenience store.
5. Wilson said when he tried to open his car door, Brown slammed it back shut, then punched Wilson in the face.
6. Fearing another punch could knock him out, Wilson drew his gun, he told the grand jury, and Brown grabbed the gun, saying "you are too much of a pussy to shoot me."
7. An African-American witness confirmed that Brown and Wilson appeared to be "arm-wrestling" by the car.
8. Another witness saw Brown leaning through the car's window and said "some sort of confrontation was taking place."
9. After Wilson fired a shot that struck Brown's hand, Brown fled and Wilson gave chase. Brown suddenly stopped. An unidentified witness told the grand jury that 6-foot-4, 292-pound Brown charged at Wilson with his head down. Wilson said Brown put his hand under the waistband of his pants as he continued toward Wilson. That's when Wilson fired.
10. A witness testified that Brown never raised his hands.
11. Gunpowder found on the wound on Brown's hand indicated his hand was close to the gun when it fired. According to a report, the hand wound showed foreign matter "consistent with products that are discharged from the barrel of a firearm."
12. Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist who reviewed the autopsy for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, said the gunpowder "supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has particulate matter in the wound."
13. Wilson said Brown was physically uncontrollable and "for lack of a better word, crazy." He said that during the confrontation, he was thinking: "He's gonna kill me. How do I survive?" Legal experts say police officers typically have wide latitude to use deadly force when they feel their safety is threatened.

There are other newsworthy issues to discuss, the point is if he was not a thug and thief and if he was respectful, he would still be alive. If it were not for Brown attacking him, the gentle giant might still be alive, but we will never know. We all have the right to defend ourselves when being attacked, and that is what Officer Wilson did and it saved his life.

She stated the obvious facts. He robbed a store and roughed up the owner. Any person whether they be female or male, white, black, indian, chinese, or any other culture committed a crime. So are you saying that black people should be allowed to commit crimes and all other races are not?
This would have never happened if he didn't do the acts that are warranted of someone calling the police cos a store is being robbed and the owner is getting beat up.
When a perpetrator goes after a police officer who is trying to arrest him for a crime he committed and the perp beats up the cop and goes for the gun just what exactly do you think is going to happen. Brown put himself in the position he did. It was a travesty and could have been prevented BY BROWN HIMSELF. Now we're all supposed to feel sorry for the thug who stole, beat up the store owner and attacked a police officer and tried to grab his gun. What do you think that he just wanted to look at the gun up close to see how pretty it was? We all know what would have happened if MB was successful at getting it.
Police officers risk their lives every day to protect the citizens from criminals like MB. It's a dangerous job. Have you ever gone on a ride along? Have you ever seen what they have to deal with every day? They have to be ready for anything.
So what's next? Exempt all black people from the laws? Only white people should have to obey the laws? If a police officer is trying to arrest a criminal after committing a crime if they are black and resist arrest or try to run away the cop should just let him go so they can go and commit more crimes. MB is not the victim here. He is a criminal who stole and attacked and tried to grab a police officers gun.
And now you have violence, threats to rape police officers wife, threats that they are going to start killing all white people they see in sight. And where's our government on this? Telling swat and national guard NOT to help the police get it under control. Telling the violent rioters to "stay the course", inciting it and letting it happen instead of trying to get it to stop.

I was not in awe of him, not a football watcher, never saw him in movies, etc. If others watching had paid extremely close attention to what was said and shown they would have noticed what I did. Supposedly a pair of gloves bought (those were the gloves - if it don't fit you must acquit gloves) by Nicole at Bloomingdale's. She would have bought those in accessories. The receipts shown on TV did not have anything that related to gloves, no certain amount, no number to identify them as gloves, did not say gloves, nothing at all. The receipt shown up close on TV and nothing was there. All that information should have been there but was not. I tried repeatedly to call into Larry King that same night to voice what I saw and never could get an open line. They said same gloves but nothing identified them on the receipt as such. My husband at that time (black by the way) watched OJ during his football years and he said this was not the way black folks kill you. They don't stand up close and stab you, usually just shoot you. He said OJ was just a shell of what he was at one time, his knees were almost gone with arthritis and all the hits he took. Anyway, my view.

When Wilson returned to the police department after the shooting, he was permitted to drive by himself. No one photographed his bloodied hands before he washed up at the station because “there was no photographer available.”

What is sad about Missouri is that so many blacks remember the sting of extreme discrimination to the point that there were actually billboards along the highways saying "Nigger Don't Let the Sun Set on You in This County." So, I imagine the witnesses who lied or thought they saw what they did not, or were relating what others claimed to have seen were wanting revenge for past injustices. My impression is that this was an uncontrollable young man who was accustomed to getting away with things due to his size and brashness. The officer had no choice but to defend himself.
