There's a little less hate in the world. Hopefully this doesn't get flagged and moved to the Faith Board. WBC's antics have been the topic of many discussions on this board.;

After going to a fallen soldier's funeral and being part of the human fence to prevent this group from disturbing the family, I can't say I have any sad feelings of his passing. Fortunately they had not started their antics in 05/2003 when I lost my son in Iraq, they did not show up at his memorial service. This is 1 group of people I am afraid would cause me to lose my sanity and do something really stupid!!

to our small town when one of our local boys died in Iraq. We were ready for them, but they didn't show. The Patriot Guard motorcycles turned out in record numbers. I can't understand how they could claim to be a church and yet have such twisted, evil thinking.

hate-filled people there are in any group. We know some atheist people who are as filled with hate for anyone who believes in the Lord as there are in his "movement".

Hate is in all groups. His just was particularly bad, but believe me, being on the end of a hate-filled rant because I believe and being told how stupid and small minded you are, well just saying there is enough hate to go around in a lot of different groups.

I think many people need to read the Christian comments being made by many in the gay community...

There should *never* be joy or any type of pleasure in the passing of a fellow human being. Hate his message and his method, not him.

My feelings or opinions about Mr. Phelps have nothing to do with what was written on this board, but just so no one will twist this to suit their fancy, what he did and said was very un-Christian-like.

Does it occur to you and others that Mr. PHelps - was not of totally sound mind?

There are tons of examples of people with twisted thinking who influence others to act in like manner (KKK for example).

In Mr. Phelps case he clearly demonstrates a very warped interpretation of the tenets he purported to support.

So in Mr. Phelps case I hated what he did, was glad to see people counter his message of hate or intolerance, but I considered his state of mind before choosing to hate him.

I was not a victim of his "escapades". I always felt bad for the people who were and didn't deserve what he did to them.

But honestly, I can't feel good that he is dead. I don't know why. Where ever he is now he will have to deal with what he did with his life and how he treated people. My conscious tells me I am not supposed to judge other people so I try not to (though sometimes its hard). I always say in the end what someone does with their live is between the Creator and that person.

I'm not happy he's dead, I don't want anyone "roasting in hell". I wish he was a kinder person when he was alive. I never could understand why he thought the way he did and hurt so many people I don't think that is what our Creator is about, but again, I guess I just don't know. I don't celebrate his death or relish in the thought he could be burning in hell. Truthfully I don't know what happens to people after they pass on.

I think all I can say is he negatively touched a lot of peoples lives and I don't blame them for the way they feel. For me I just don't know.
