I just found my deceased mother's name on missingmoney and called the state this morning and found out the entire amount is over $4,000. I was her only living child but here is the twist. The surviving spouse would get the money and that was her husband. He remarried a year after her death (1991), left the state where they were living and if he should not be living now, his survivors would get the money, perhaps even the newer wife.
