Clint Eastwood vs. George Clooney

Posted: Aug 31, 2012

Choosing Clint Eastwood to represent Hollywood at the RNC was a stroke of genius. He embodies conservatism and the Heartland ruggedness of America. I would say that more people can relate to Clint Eastwood (RNC's choice) than to George Clooney (DNC's choice). ;

Alzheimer's at its finest. The truth of the matter is, regardless of his message, his appearance and his apparent struggle with age trumped anything he said. I don't fault Clint for this. I fault the GOP for putting him in that spot. Given the reviews he's gotten, I bet they just made that man's life miserable.

That's cruel of you to say - sm

he represents "Alzheimer's at its finest." The rest of your message was trumped by that insensitive remark.

Its about as sensitive as "Ovomits"...sm - JTBB

and the remarks made about Fluke, Bernhardt, Ried, Pelosi, Akin, Romney, Ryan........etc. Sorry...didn't realize this was a "sensitivity" contest.

when they say it's "cruel" to talk about Clint that way, is that Clint was absolutely nothing but disrespectful to the office of the president. Saying..no, he can't do that to himself..really? That would insuate that our president would actually say something of that nature, which in itself is crude. If he's old enough to throw out the insults, he's old enough to take them.
What YOU don't realize is the disrespect:: - Obama has shown Americans

I think this post is meant to enrage people on the other side. I've read a lot of messages here, but this truly tops the cake of insensitive, evil and downright hateful.

Clint Eastwood represents what is good in our country. I don't even know what to say to such an cruel thing to say. Kind of like what I don't know what to say to people who are cruel to animals and children.

Clint Eastwood gave a fine speech. I'm sure you already had your post written before you even heard him speak. That is if you even heard him speak. By reading your posts am sure you are not watching the RNC. Sure you can say you did, but posts like this show you have no interest in what anyone on the other side has to say. Therefore will go with about a 99% probability you didn't watch and had this prepared ahead of time. What you write just makes the hair stand up on my neck. It is everything that is wrong with this country. Guess I've never really read such hate before spewed at such a wonderful human being (not in politics that is).

He is a proud American citizen who spoke eloquently and from his heart. He showed no signs of aging (again proof you didn't watch), but all the years of wisdom.

The republicans picked a winner when they chose Mr. Eastwood to speak. He is an influential member of Hollywood. He is a legend. The important people in this country have nothing but admiration for him and good things to say. The others, well not so important and their hate and evil shines through.

Mr. Eastwood's speech was wonderful and his life is far from "miserable".

I guess it's disappointing to know that there are people filled with such hate they would lash out without cause at a fine man who has done so much for the country and his community. He is a legend and I am proud he belongs to the republican party and this country.

Go Sarge- Libs had no problems with clnt when:: - they thought his commercial

The Super Bowl for the Anionted One. Then, Libs were shouting to the rooftops what a "partioit" Clint was; how wonderful his commercial, what a "true American". Now that Clint went to the RNC, they spit all over him.

Shows how the Dems have no stability and move with shifting sand. Waiting for a sand pocket to swallow up the shiftless bunch.
Baloney. The Super Bowl is not a political event. - Eastwood specifically said
[ In Reply To ..]
his statement was not meant to be construed as support for Obama:

“l am certainly not politically affiliated with Mr. Obama. It was meant to be a message about, just about job growth and the spirit of America. I think all politicians will agree with it. I thought the spirit was okay. I am not supporting any politician at this time. Chrysler, to their credit, didn’t even have cars in the ad. Anything they gave me for it went for charity. If… Obama or any other politician wants to run with the spirit of that ad, go for it.”

Scott Walker: "Clint Eastwood Speech Was One GOP Convention Moment I Cringed About."

Roger Ebert: "Sad and pathetic. He didn't need to do this to himself. It's unworthy of him."

Morning Joe" "...a great night for Mitt Romney just got sidetracked by Clint Eastwood."

Clint embarrassed himself and the party organizers with his "performance." He's being mocked all over social media since the moment he stepped away from the podium. Team Romney was seen wincing in the wings, counting the seconds until the ramble was done, after they realized their screw-up and how it would overshadow Mitt. They were right about that, since it doesn't take much for that to happen.

The only mention Romney got on this forum since he accepted the nomination yesterday is his rush to get away from Tampa and toward the camera lenses waiting for him in NOLA.

Sorry, Clint is a hero, always will be. Yeah, he's an old guy, still extremely cool, though perhaps a little harder to understand these days (news flash!!! it happens to everyone!!. That's okay, I'll take him over Ellen Barkin (all conservatives should die from Hurricane Issac), Rosaane Barr (everyone who eats at Chik-Fil-A should die), Spike Lee (kicking Condi Rice in the butt), Bill Maher (Dick Cheney should die)...I could go on, there's plenty more. Yeah, the party of tolerance.......whatever. Just don't disagree with them or have a different opinion.....you just might be a RACIST!!

Alzheimer's and complications thereof. And you don't think you're heartless, vile and cruel with the comments you so flippantly make?

You cares what your politics are, there is no excuse for you callous, rude, ignorant comments about people that suffer so terribly from Alzheimer's and their families that suffer right along with them.

Then you get on here and scream about how caring, tolerant and compassionate Democrats and Liberals are? Every time you open your mouth with such thoughtless posts, your prove otherwise.

You go way over the line girl!

Glad to see someone can post a funny without the detectives posting comments about checking your time stamp, recognize your writing style, moniker, hurl an insult (next they'll be asking for stool samples :)) 'cause you're on the "other side". Yikes - you may be under investigation as we write.

Anyway, keep it you. Refreshing to see your sense of humor no matter "side" you're on.
