--being Betty White! This may not be true but it's making the rounds after Eastwood's RNC speech. If true, will look like DNC defensive strategy.;

will go nowhere fast. Team Obama finalized their line-up weeks ago. I am confident that the "mystery" introductory speaker will not be a celeb laying a comedy egg in front of a national audience. In fact, the Hollywood celeb reps show up all by themselves without being formally scheduled, so whomever is going to fill that spot is anybody's guess, the element of surprise being half the fun. I also doubt BW needs a petition to get entrance to the event and wouldn't be the lest bit surprised if she already has her seat of choice reserved ahead of time.

As far as gossip goes, rumor has it that we will see participation by Ashley Judd and Thora Birch (delegates), Eva Longoria (campaign co-chair), James Taylor, Jeff Bridges, Nicki Minaj, Mary Blidge (Earth, Wind and Fire vocalist), Marc Anthony (top-selling tropical salsa singer), Jimmie Fallon's house band, Eminem, Rosario Dawson, Russell Simmons and Taboo (Black Eyed Peas), Styx, Jessica Alba, America Ferrera, Kal Penn, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Ben Affleck....by no means a complete list.

Seems to me the Hollywood reps part of the DNC has its bases covered.

She's pretty old, and so Obama's job-killing (regulations, outsourcing) people-killing policies (obamacare) won't really affect her anyway. Doesn't add much credence to his campaign, IMO.

Defensive strategy? Against what? The CE embarrassment - and his upstage of the nominee?

I've always liked Clint Eastwood, but his rambling speech did nothing to bring any clarity to important issues or tell us anything we don't know about Romney/Ryan. I didn't see the point. I felt sorry for him because he didn't look or sound well, but why did the planners put him in that embarrassing position. He was clearly out of place. That wasn't fair to him.
