Can make prediction now: Romney will win the popular vote

Posted: Oct 18, 2012

Obama is going down bigtime.

The only question now is whether it may be way too late to fix the enormous amount of damage he's done to this country both domestically and around the world.

;

Probably about 7-8 more governorships will also go - Republican.

[ In Reply To ..]
And this can be just as helpful for the country as a Romney win.

The last 4 years have shown that we do get it wrong sometimes, but thank God we can fix our mistakes.

What polls are these? - nm

I don't need no stinkin' poll. It's my prediction from - putting a lot of pieces of information together.

Damage - me

[ In Reply To ..]
Don't you mean the enormous damage Obama inherited from George Bush that is going to take a lifetime to fix?

No, I don't. - Nice try but no cigar.

[ In Reply To ..]
First of all, it's time for all of you Dems to own what Obama has done. We can't expect him to do so, but I'd like to see some more maturity among normal people.

Second, if you knew anything about the crash of 2008, you would know that Bush didn't cause it. The crash had its roots in the housing policies of Democrats all the way back to the 1990s when Barney Franks and others pressured lenders to make rotten home loans because "everyone should own a home".

This cause was also pushed by Obama when he was a community organizer, literally sending people to crash bank board meetings and threaten the board members to lower lending standards.

Aaaah - knowledge. It's a wonderful thing except to those who don't have it.

$billions and $billions of rotten loans made - mostly thanks to Franks and Schumer.

[ In Reply To ..]
It's amazing how many people have swallowed the stupid idea that Bush "caused" the crash.

But one thing is true - Obama IS responsible for the $trillions in debt that followed the crash. Him, and his minions like Reed, Pelosi and Feinstein.

It completely defies understanding how anyone could ever want any of these people to remain in office.
Do any of you even know what Congress does? - Ahhhh.....knowledge
[ In Reply To ..]
The lack of knowledge on this board is absolutely unbelievable. Those of you who quote figures over and over again, and blame the president (no matter who they happen to be) for the state of our economy, the price of gas, tax increases or decreases, healthcare and everything else under the sun, need a little government lesson.

The president of our country is COMMANDER IN CHIEF. That is his number 1 responsibility. Everything else is secondary. Aside from his own agenda, bills and legislation are introduced to the president to sign or not.

NOTHING IN THIS COUNTRY is done without permission from CONGRESS. The president does not spend 1 dime not approved by Congress. Legislation is approved by Congress. NOTHING is "repealed" by the president or anyone else except Congress. THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES who can pass, reject or change laws.

Evidently many of you think a president has many more powers than he really has. You place the blame for the economic in America on Obama. How absolutely ridiculous that not one of you ever bring up the actions or inactions of Congress, like they do not exist when, for the most part, they run the country.

A word of advice, do not let your intelligence affect your judgment!!!!!!!! You have available knowledge right in front of you every day, yet so many choose not to use it.

Polls, analysts, websites or media spewing fact-free information. Fox does not report the news, they try to incite it. This is what they get paid big bucks to do, sway you. And it is working. Is this is what it has come to?

I wish the Republicans actually would offer up a candidate worthy of voting for so I did not have to vote for Obama, but OMG, look what they have come up with in the last friggin decade!! McCain, Palin, Perry, Herman, geesh!! You finally one who has actually had a successful business career. Period. That's it. End of story. I almost wish he would win so that you could see what it was you wished for. And what gets me, is that most of you here are women!! He may look like chicken salad, but it is not made that way.
Evidently you don't believe that the President - backwards typist
[ In Reply To ..]
has a responsible job. Your first paragraph proves you don't understand how it works.

IOW, if Congress passes a BILL, Obama can VETO it. Evidently, you don't think he can do that. Congress CANNOT veto a bill. They can pass it, table it, or vote against it, but the passed bill GOES TO THE PRESIDENT TO BE SIGNED INTO LAW or VETOED. It is not law until the President sees, signs or vetos this bill.

Commander in Chief is his second job unless we are at war...and even there, he falls flat.

The words "The buck stops here" applies to his office where his main job is to lead. Obama follows...Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Durbin, Hoyer, etc.

Four years of "It's not my fault!" - sm

Just think of the worst economy in the history of America that our next president is going to inherit, thanks to Obama. Romney will have his hands full saving it, but he's up to the task, and I doubt he will play the passive-aggressive game that Obama likes.

Go ahead and vote against your own economic interests. Idiotic.
Backs of the elderly. - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
The democratic party in my state has sent out horrible frightening ads to the elderly warning them to vote for Obama and against Romney. They are full of untruths and half-truths. In addition, there is an investigation going on right now concerning money given to the Medicare advantage plans by the Obama administration (HHS)to keep the insurance companies from revealing their true rate hikes and lower coverage to the elderly until after the November election. These negative changes are courtesy of Obamacare. AARP and the Medicare advantage plans have sold out to the Obama administration. The elderly deserve better than this. Having an elderly parent who has enough to worry about as it is, these tactics make me sick to my stomach.

And if Romney wins, it will be another 4 years of "it's no my fault." - Be careful what you wish for.

[ In Reply To ..]
What you describe that Romney would "inherit" IF he wins, is the exact same thing Obama was faced with when he entered the White House, but no one wants to talk about that. The worst economy in American history rests squarely on the shoulders of the last Bush administration. He knew it, he lied about it, and they all had a good laugh knowing how it would make Ombama look with the amount of debt he left, and the amount that would keep coming while Obama was in office, spending money he actually did not want to spend but would have to in order to save this country from going over a cliff.

I do not agree with all that Obama has done and has not done, but I believe in the tortoise and the hare story. We are slowly recovering. I think Obama's forward thinking is a good thing. What I see on this board is actually sad. Some of you need to learn how our country actually operates, what the Senate does, and what Congress is responsible for doing and, more importantly, NOT doing before you place blame on the president, no matter who he is, who actually does not have the power you think he does.

I am very impressed by Romney's business ventures and his financial success. PERIOD. It ends there. I do not think he is fit to run this country. I do not think he is an honest person, and I think if he is elected the middle class will sink so low that in the next election they will again vote for ANYONE running against him, no matter what, same as they are doing with Obama.

Romney does have "Christian values." Not much is said about that. No negative ads about where Obama comes from. Pretty smart considering Romney's great-grandfather had 5 wives and 30 children. But as they say, he is "Christian."

Romney and his sons have never really "worked" for anything. Give me a break, 20-million in capital gains, and he only pays 14%!!!! How has this created ANY jobs?? This tax break for the rich has gone on long enough. They are due to expire and should. Again, the worst economy in American history. Where are all the jobs these tax breaks created?

Romney wants 2-trillion in new military spending? Why? I know why. God help us all. Be so careful what you wish for. He and his sons claim to be all for God and Country. Really....? They have spent their time becoming rich, numerous high-dollar cars, country clubs, ivy league schools, silver spoons in their mouth. NOT ONE of them has ever done a military service of any kind for this country. NONE. For God, I am sure, but so much for Country.

Romney has been too evasive. He has changed his mind on too many issues. He plans to eliminate certain tax deductions and exemptions. How will that affect your child care credit, or your mortgage interest deductions. This is nothing but a tax increase in disguise. Ask the people of Massachusetts, who do not support him at all. All fees for anything and everything will go up - say getting a fishing license. Don't be surprised by a $50-$75 fee. These things will double and triple. Do not be fooled by the Romneycare either. There is absolutely no provision for pre-existing conditions.

I could go on and on. Basically, we should all relate pretty well when he is elected. It will sort of be like the MT business. Many, many people will lose jobs at the drop of a hat. That is him trimming the "fat."

How would Romney like trying to accomplish anything that is good for the country and constantly having bills held up in the senate and Congress. They call roll there, and instead of "here," they should say "not guilty." When this party claims their main goal is to make O a 1-term president and not let him do anything, how is that looking out for the middle class? How is that in the best interest of the American people?

It is time people started taking the state of country a little more serious, but it does not start with the president. It goes from the bottom up, ALL OF THEM. The ridiculous polls, the ridiculous analysts, and "entertainers" like FOX news should not be your source of facts or goals. Fox does not report the news, they incite it. They get paid alot of money to entertain people in this fashion.

If I were just casting a vote to go against Obama, it certainly would never be for someone like Romney. Ask people in his own state. You may be very sorry, and certainly should be more careful than to get caught up in the media sources playing political games.
Bravo! - me

Very well said! I agree with you 100%.
:-)
Evidently, you still don't realize who caused most of the problems - backwards typist
[ In Reply To ..]
As someone else said, and I have said before, it started in the '90s when Clinton decided everyone should be able to live the American dream by owning a home...thus, the mortgage debacle began, allowing those who couldn't afford a home were allowed to buy one. McMansions came along about that time, too because everyone wanted bigger and better.

Enron (and other companies like them)anyone? Dot.com bubble anyone? All in Clinton's time. These problems and the mortgage bubble started the ball rolling. Others swept under the rug and didn't appear until Bush was in charge.

So, get your facts straight. BTW, search for Bush trying to stop the financial meltdown in 2005-2006. You will see Barney Fife was the one who told everyone that there's nothing wrong with the banks...or something on that order. Then Congress, being controlled by the democrats, voted down any legislation that may have stopped the meltdown. I say 'may' because we'll never know since the democrats didn't pass that legislation.

If you don't want to look it up, I'll oblige and do it for you. Okay?

And the national debt goes up by 7 trillion dollars - oabo

and Romney antagonizes all our allies with his remarks while the hawks start another war, this time with Iran. We have lots to look forward to.

That would truly be an amazing feat, indeed, if Romney won the popular vote. For Pete's sake, since when do conservatives even like him?

I will vote for President Obama and never regret it. He has really tried to clean up the mess this country was left in by the last administration, and I think he is doing a fine job.
