I saw Boehner twisting his mouth all around when he accepted Gifford's letter of resignation. Then he wiped a tear away. He looked so pathetic, I felt for him. Do you suppose there is still a heart beating in that Trop50 container somewhere.

So much for those explosive Lush/Focks talking points. Speaking of wealth envy, it seems to me the goobers sure do resent the idea of anyone outside the pack with big bucks. Warren Buffett comes to mind, an appropriate poster boy for successful capitalism if ever there was one.

Why just a few days ago (Jan 22), they threw down one of their truth-challenged headlines in an attempt to deflect attention off of the Romney tax return dust-up, claiming, "Kerry Paid 13% Tax Rate." They cited his 2004 return, made public during the campaign, that clearly reflected a 23% rate. Somehow I doubt the headline can be explained away as a typo.

They couldn't make their case without dragging Teresa Heinz, Kerry's wife, into the fray, to grouse over HER capital gains tax breaks, all the while failing to mention that she inherited $600 million from former GOP Senator John Heinz, who died when a helicopter crashed into his very own private plane. Still waiting to hear what makes GOP capital gains tax rates politically correct and what makes those very same capital gains rates so evil when reported by dems.

Yes, I mean ANYONE who is uber-rich and privileged. - Party affiliation means nothing anymore.

Agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, looking at this board, most only see D or R and nothing else. Reading this board gives you a great insight into what is wrong overall. Almost impossible to have an intelligent discussion about what is listed without someone calling you a name when you disagree. I am all for term limits ASAP. Would clean out a lot of dead wood and shake them all up.

Absolutely NO corporate support. Any company caught propping a candidate up with money, or sending lobbyists to DC, gets hugely fined the first time, and SHUT DOWN if it happens again. No exceptions.

All healthcare-related companies, hospitals, HMOs, MTSOs, pharmaceutical companies, etc. should be banned from offering shares of themselves on the stock market. No exceptions.

I hope the blowback to the GOP is like a death knell to the party. Boehner had 220 votes, Pelosi 192, and 15 voted either for someone else (Alan West, Colin Powell, themselves, or voted present). Some of the 113th weren't there. As to the other poster, Mr. Boehner is refusing to allow a vote -therefore HE is currently holding the government ***. It certainly is not Obama who controls that vote.
