Boehner and Pelosi are still the leaders of the House

Boehner had 220 votes, Pelosi 192, and 15 voted either for someone else (Alan West, Colin Powell, themselves, or voted present). Some of the 113th weren't there. I don't know if they were new to Congress or not. I'm not as familiar with the House reps, but they called their names a few times and those reps didn't answer. So don't know what went on there.

Anyhow... Boehner cried!!! I like him best in his public displays of emotion. I actually cried too during swearing in. It always seems like a fresh beginning with new hope. Too bad it will only last 1 day ;-)
I don't like the symbolism of Alan West getting votes, 3 I think it was.

The 112th's last day was yesterday. The process of rules and procedures for the 113th are being voted on today, committees are going to be chosen, etc. All "minor" stuff.
Nancy seemed to take it well (that she didn't get the chair), but I guess she had no choice.
I cried when Sen. Kirk returned and started to walk up the outside stairs. That had to be tough being partially paralyzed.
No, it was all the new ones that - voted today.
