Carson ended his conversation by saying any two people, regardless of sexual preference, should be granted the same legal rights without having to tack on the word “marriage” to their relationship.

What exactly would give a same sex spouse benefits via spouse employment, for instance?

I donated a paltry $25 to him last night, but don't - think he will get the nomination.

To paraphrase what I heard him say last night: He welcomes the criticism. If he didn't get any, he would know he wasn't getting under anyone's skin. HA! Good point!!

I like Dr. Carson, but I don't think he has enough fire in his belly to be president. At least, I haven't seen it yet. I will give him the benefit of the doubt, however, and look forward to seeing how he does with his exploratory committee.

Along comes a man with zero foreign policy experience regardless of his scruples and/or family values and good name, etc. He will be defined by how he handles himself in that atmosphere.

If he can't handle the press as a candidate, he'll get killed by the press as a world leader.

The perpetual victim routine and never ending whiny persecution defense are not going to fly here. That identity politics is only believed by the minority. The communist label is beyond ridiculous, and no one is trying to destroy the Constitution. With the exception of a very few of them, all of the leaders of our country are cut from the same cloth and want the same thing. They simply disagree on the path to take to getting it. The propaganda that is tossed out like red meat and gobbled down like candy is to motivate voters. The politicians that are feeding you this identity narrative know better.

Everything he says will be scrutinized, but nothing he says will really matter. Believe me when I tell you that Ben Carson will not be a factor in the 2016 election, and the whiny blaming of the liberal media meme can't save him.

The subject was Ben Carson's qualifications and Ben Carson's being scrutinized under the media spotlight.

This false narrative and conservative rhetoric claiming Obama was only ever a community organizer has run its course and is no longer relevant. Perhaps Ben Carson will stand on the debate stage and try it, though. It could be useful for a laugh or two, but the grown ups in the room know it's all just tired, old rhetoric with zero actual substance.

I think Ben Carson is a great man and actually might make a good president. Unfortunately for Mr. Carson, the party he represents has spent quite a lot of years trashing the Democratic President over Obama's lack of credentials (still are), to the point of discounting and understating his true credentials. The microscope Mr. Carson is now under is a very large one of his own party's making.

But the primary reason is money. The establishment candidate will most likely be either Jeb Bush or Chris Christie (maybe even John Kasich), while the Tea Party candidate will most likely be Scott Walker or Rand Paul. I think Scott Walker has some crossover potential to appeal to both sides, but I think the other candidates will gang up on him and squeeze him out. Time will tell.

There will be jockeying for the GOP and Tea Party money, and the money will choose their candidates. Rand Paul and Jeb Bush have been at this game for a while now, and they're seasoned.

The money usually bets on the candidate it knows. Ben Carson is a new commodity.

Just my opinion, but I've seen this play out over decades. It is rare that a new commodity does not get boxed out by their competitors and the money early on.

Prison homosexuality is a choice of no other options. - Many do go back to hetero upon release from prison

You're a man in an all male prison. What other option do you have, but another man if you're that desperate for sex. Any female COs are not really a viable option if you want to get out with a good record.

I've typed prison reports and psych rehab reports on prisoners. Hetero men have no other option, some simply see it as a temporary situation (without going into graphic detail) and that's all it is for the time they are there.

Prison doesn't automatically turn straight men gay. That's stupid. If they choose homosexual behavior on release from prison, it's simply acting on tendences that were always there in the subconscious.
