Abuse of the term Main Stream Media - which I love!

I am a lover of Main Stream Media. The more I see of some of the weirdness outside the mainstream news sources, the more thankful I am that we have a good source of news that we can depend upon.

Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing the term, "Main Stream Media" as if it were a bad thing, and then to make it worse, Sarah Palin's ignorant use of it as the cutsey term, "Lame Stream Media"?

Pesonally, I am perfectly capable of viewing any media, whether it be on the regular networks or cable, print, or internet, and determining what is real and what is slanted. There are commentators that have made it perfectly clear that they slant one way or the other. When an intelligent person listens to them, they weigh that in the balance. Personally, I plan to take advantage of all sources of information except the really weird cult or skin-head ones that are sometimes quoted as being an authority. I draw the line there because they are dangerous. They use mind-control techniques along with just reporting dramatic stories that 'tickle' peoples' ears and get them overexcited.

At any rate, from now on I'm going to consider Main-Stream Media as meaning it's a legitimate source of news, which, as with any news, the listener weighs appropriately.

Even though everyone knows Fox is bought and paid for by the far-right and ultra-far-right, I still even enjoy watching it occasionally. I am especially careful when I watch it though, because they've been known to show pictures and report on events that don't match the pictures you are seeing, and the events never happened. If you keep that in mind, you can even benefit from watching an occasional interview on Fox. Yes, it will be slanted, but an intelligent human being can allow for that. I wouldn't make a habit of watching it regularly, but occasionally won't hurt anyone. The really far out, weird ones? Never go near them. They can turn your mind to mush. That is mind-control and it is scary how many people fall for it. It's fun to watch those for people who need a little excitement and want to believe that we never went to the moon but there are underground towns built by our government for them to live in when they kill us all.

What's the name of that guy who is a former wrestler turned governor? I saw him interviewed recently talking about his show that is supposed to do nothing but expose big conspiracies. He admitted it was all just a TV show and not to believe. Strangely enough, I got hooked on watching it and started believing it. I was almost sad that those stories were fake. I was really getting invested in them. It was fun to believe those way-out stories. They sounded authentic to me. I'm a little put out that he said they were fake and just for entertainment and I had fallen for it. Those shows and internet sites are dangerous. I now know from experience to stay away from them. They can ruin your mind.

that is just a label that the right wingers use for any source other than fox news and cohorts. Along with other tactics it is used to isolate viewers from any other viewpoint by fear. Face it....dems/libs are just as much "regurgitated propagandists" as anyone else. They're no better than anyone else.

I cannot understand the outright hatred people have for those who simply don't agree with them. They will never ever believe the democrats do anything wrong. And they will just continue to post message after message of hate spew trying to ridicule those who don't belong to their club.

The saying that comes to mind with these kind of posts is don't feel the trolls. They just like to post to cause trouble. I've started ignoring her posts now and it works for me.
