5 reasons "negro spotting" at the RNC is Stupid

Posted: Sep 4, 2012

I just read this article shortly before someone here started in with negro spotting.  It's totally racist and I am offended people in the year 2012 do this.   Interesting article.  Here are a few excerps:

Have you heard of "Negro Spotting?" It's a liberal game on Twitter. Libs see a black person at the Republican National Convention and they laugh and laugh at the hilarity!

This actually tells you a lot about how liberals think -- or more accurately, don't think.

Most liberals believe deep down in their bleeding hearts that conservatives are evil, bigoted racists! Yet, there's no racist rhetoric coming from the stage at the Republican National Convention.

Percentage-wise, there may be more minorities speaking at the Republican National Convention than at the Democratic National Convention.

Yet, since liberals can't admit the obvious truth, that the Republican Party isn't even remotely racist, they have to invent ever more ludicrous phony examples of "racism" to keep the cognitive dissonance from shaking their puny little minds apart.

I've been to Netroots Nation, which is the biggest independent liberal conference in America, and guess what? It’s pretty white. How white is it? Like a snowstorm in Maine white. Like Grand Ole Opry in Alaska white. Like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man diving into a giant vat of whip cream white. The same could be said for a lot of Occupy rallies.

The fact that libs are reaching this far tells you a lot about Obama's record: If Obama's stimulus had worked and unemployment was 5 1/2 percent, the economy was roaring, Obama had kept his promise to cut deficit spending in half, if he'd secured Medicare instead of taking 718 billion dollars out to fund his unpopular Obamacare plan, if the taxpayers hadn't lost 25 billion dollars on the GM and Chevrolet bailouts, and if Obama had been a successful President instead of a bailout-loving, dictator-bowing, hyper-partisan, far left wing lying machine, we'd never hear the words "Negro Spotting." "Negro Spotting" is what you have to stoop to when you're embarrassed by the terrible performance of your candidate and you want to talk about ANYTHING other than his performance in office. It's like the old saying goes, "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullflop."

Liberals are myopic when it comes to black Americans: Is it racist to oppose an extension of early voting? Only if you make the racist assumption that black people are too incompetent or irresponsible to make it to the polls in the same period that people from every other race can arrive. Is it racist to ask for voter ID? Only if you make the racist assumption that black Americans are too helpless and dumb to get an ID, just like people from every other race. Also, you'd have to assume that banks, ABC stores, bars, groceries, dance clubs, car rentals, and airports among many other places that require identification are also racist. The same goes for mostly white and black attendance at events. How many white people show up for a Jay Z concert? How many black Americans show up at Comic Con? Does that mean they're racist? Of course, not. Jay Z would love to have 10 times as many white fans showing up because they'd be putting more money in his pocket. Comic Con would undoubtedly feel the same about black Americans.

Liberals say "Where are the minorities?" at the RNC & then smear, racially demean, & attack every minority who does speak: If you're not a straight, white male, liberals think they own you. So, the moment that conservatives who are black, Hispanic, female, or gay get any sort of attention, liberals try to destroy them to keep them from inspiring others with their example. It's no different with the way the Left reacts to the GOP convention. Liberals yuk it up because they don't see a lot of black Americans in the crowd; then they hurl disgusting abuse at every minority conservative who gets on the stage.

This one stood out to me: "If you're not a straight, white male, liberals think they own you." I think that by now, after 3 1/2 years, ALL races are waking up to that tactic. Nov. 2 can't come too soon.

Thank you for telling me what I think and how puny my mind is - You complete me.

So much that I won't even mention the fact that the only person who mentioned "negro spotting" (more than once) is you, and this pragraph basically does the same exact thing that outraged you to the point of posting this rant:

"I've been to Netroots Nation, which is the biggest independent liberal conference in America, and guess what? It’s pretty white. How white is it? Like a snowstorm in Maine white. Like Grand Ole Opry in Alaska white. Like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man diving into a giant vat of whip cream white. The same could be said for a lot of Occupy rallies."

You're welcome - Any time I can be of assistance

Said in the same comical tone as what you wrote.

That last paragraph was actually in the article. He wrote it for a reason. It's to teach a lesson to the "negro spotters" that they shouldn't throw stones as they don't have a huge outpouring of people of color going to their functions. Mostly old rich white men.

Negro spotting? - RC

[ In Reply To ..]
Huh.

Conservatives do have a bad rap for being bigots. My family are republicans and horrible bigots, which is why I fled so far in the other direction. But, it's not fair to make blanket statements about anyone, ever.

Not really - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
The only people who think Conservatives have a "bad raps for being bigots" is Liberals. My grandma was a bigot and she was a Democrat.

So you just made a blanket statement about Conservatives and then said it's not fair to make blanket statements. Can we say h-y-p-o-c-r-i-t.

Thanks for the laugh though.

I said they had a bad rap. - RC

[ In Reply To ..]
Not that they were all bigots.

I'm sorry if I offended you, it was not meant to be offensive to anyone. If I'm wrong, and conservatives don't have a bad rap for being bigots, I apologize for that as well.
Thanks. That's okay, I was not offended - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I was just correcting an error of the statement that Conservatives have a bad rap for being bigots. Because they don't have a bad rap. The only people who keep saying they are bigots are liberals, but they never have any proof. I've learned to take what they say with a grain of salt. Then usually when I do research find out what was said is usually false information. I actually thought it was funny that you made a blanket statement about conservatives and then said people shouldn't make blanket statements about anyone.

But, no I didn't find your statement offensive. Was just funny. If I was easily offended I wouldn't be reading this board. :-)
the "bad rap" came not from the OP, but the - conservative white blogger cut and paste

.
Nope, didn't misread and I think she owes all Conservates an apology - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
She made a blanket statement about Conservatives. No surprise there because of being a liberal. Just because someone in her family is a conservative and bigot doesn't mean all conservatives are.

you are going under that blanket statement as much as you like it. Truth is there are bigots in every party. Her grandfather was one and my grandmother who was a democrat was a bigot.

The difference is I see the truth for what it is.

I'd say you owe me an apology for telling me I owe an apology to someone when none is due and when she should be the one to apologize.
the statement was made by the journalist the OP copied - nm

1 reason why white people should not write about black issues - link

[ In Reply To ..]
My advice to you in the future would be to talk to black people about racism. They tend to be more in touch with the subject than white bloggers.

Follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. Follow the link to read a brief article by a smart African American Woman.

That leaves Chris Matthews out - white guy that he is,

[ In Reply To ..]
and as racist as they come.

He gives even liberals - a bad name.

[ In Reply To ..]
His embarrassing performances and rants make for good entertainment, though. What an angry person he is.

? did you misunderstand? - nm

[ In Reply To ..]

Why do you say that? - mbmt

[ In Reply To ..]
I have never even entertained that idea.
So only white conservatives should never write about black issues - but white liberals can?
[ In Reply To ..]
Thanks for clearing that up.
Would you rephrase the question please? - mbmt
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't think I answered your question.
Okay - but white liberals can?
[ In Reply To ..]
From the beginning:

1. Someone wrote why white people should never discuss black issues.

2. Someone replied That leaves Chris Matthews out (obviously because he's white)

3. You asked - Why do you say that?

So my questions was:

So only white republicans should never write about black issues, but white liberals can? Sorry I should have wrote democrats and not liberals. That was my question. Are you saying that you agree that white conservatives should not discuss black issues, but it's okay for a white liberals to discuss them? Sorry I didn't make my questions more clear.
The question - mbmt
[ In Reply To ..]
I was asking a question about why the poster thought Chris Matthews was racist. Sorry about the confusion.
I am confused. (squiggly face inserted if I had one) - I thought it was obvious
[ In Reply To ..]
Since the poster said white people shouldn't talk about black issues then of course Chris Matthews would be excluded since he's white.
I am the author of "1 reason why..." - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I was responding specifically to the topic raised by the OP, who defined negro-spotting as race baiting. The link I provided (an article by a black female) sheds light on the social and political phenomenon of "negro-spotting."

It was my hope that others might investigate the topic, as it is folly to quote myopic white bloggers about what racism is or is not, and we ought not jump to conclusions that this is a game libs play.

I am not familiar with Chris Matthews, as I do not get cable. I cannot weigh in on whether he is a racist or not, but party affiliation does not give anyone a pass, IMO.

He's not, but its a moot point. - Dem big tent is open to them too.

I hear Matthews et al media are being treated like royalty in NC, unlike Greta van Susteren's "bus zoo" cages Romney kept them in when he went on his Magical Mittstery Tour.

10 Reasons Not To Get The Flu ShotOct 27, 2010
The verdict is out on flu shots. Many medical experts now agree it is more important to protect yourself and your family from the flu vaccine than the flu itself. Let’s take a look at the reasons behind this verdict: 1.) There is a total lack of real evidence that young children even benefit from flu shots.  A systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. Also the shots are on ...

Reasons To ChooseOct 08, 2016
Looking over the posts on the political board, I am stunned by the vitriolic posts. For the top office in the land, we are hiring someone for 4 years. We are the interviewer and the employer. We don't have to like the person, don't have to eat holiday dinner with the person, don't even have to watch the person on TV. We have 2 contenders, one will hold the office. That person has to know how to do the job and how to get congress (which is way more crucial than the president) to ...

Reasons Not To Dismantle/Destroy MedicareApr 12, 2011
I was just thinking about the long-term ramifications of dismantling or changing Medicare so that it does not cover healthcare needs of the elderly. That will come out of the college fund for families in some case when there just isn' ...

She informed us, to my shock and horror, that the Soviets pretty much included what they liked in the history books and left out everything else. As a result, she said, there were generations of Russian students who were m ...
