This is one of the reasons I did not vote for Obama, nor will I

Posted: Sep 1, 2012

vote for him this election. I'm not posting this to start a war here. When he was campaigning the first time, I listened very closely to what he had to say. I was almost ready to vote for him but then I realized he could NEVER accomplish those goals without putting our country further in debt. I'm posting this as a reminder that he did everything just the opposite of every statement and campaign "promise" he made concerning our country while a senator:

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

before he was president we were on a fast-paced downhill race to a full-blown depression created by none other than the reckless spending for 2 unnecessary wars, medicare D (which was a failure), an auto bailout..etc, NONE of which were paid for.

I'm pretty sure in 2006 Obama didn't know he was going to be handed that kind of mess. He also probably did like doing the stimulus any more than anyone else did, but it was the only thing that could have been done. Yeah, the econmy is awful right now and will probably continue to be awful for some time (regardless of who's in charge). However, coming back from a free fall to where we are now was no insignificant feat. Who do we have to thank for this recovery (slow as it may be)? Not the republicans who have been fighting him the whole way towards the path to recovery.

Many of the Republicans blocked him from doing what needed to be done - Not saying all but many did

[ In Reply To ..]
I always wonder how much he could have accomplished if everyone had kept the interests of our great country in mind. Instead, one leader said his main job was to get in the president's way. I can't remember the exact words he used. When you have that many people working hard day and night to make sure that you fail, it makes it more difficult. Even so, he has accomplished some things, parts of the healthcare act for example, that make a positive difference for me.

There is too much hatred coming from the Republicans. Politicians used to work together for the sake of the country. Until they are able to work with the rest of America, we are going to suffer.

"""Be thankful he didn't "accomplish" more. (sm) - me

[ In Reply To ..]
The things he wanted to "accomplish" cost billions more. Thank God Cap and Trade did not go through, thanks was it to the Republicans? When you have someone of O's ilk trying to take over the country, you have to stop him by whatever means are necessary. Thank God for the Republicans.
What I'd like to see...sm - JTBB

if Romney is elected, is for that budget that pubs are trying to get to go into sequestration to do just that. Then, maybe after about 4 years of no military defense to speak of, an even worse economy where folks will be starving cuz they can't afford that $10 loaf of bread, no jobs to speak of, and a ticked off Isreal (cuz they're gonna get cut off too) who is armed to the teeth by us, then folks will actually realize whats going on in this country.

But then again...that's not gonna happen. Romney doesn't stand a chance.
I guess you don't have kids - to be saddled with our debt. - Thanks to O. (sm)
[ In Reply To ..]
You'll be singing another tune if O is reelected.
Besides the fact that you just accused me of not caring about my kids...sm - JTBB
[ In Reply To ..]
Rude and uninformed as that may be, the same very well happen to Obama. Pubs are obviously holding the budget hostage until they find out who wins the election. If it goes into sequestration, and it probably will if Obama is re-elected, then we all know who to thank. BTW, I don't just thank those pubs in Washington, I thank the ones who put them there as well.
You do love to throw that word around, don't you?""" - me again
[ In Reply To ..]
No one "accused" you of anything. Maybe it's a reading comprehension thing, or maybe you just like to start trouble, but I'm wise to your tactics. Let me explain, sloooowly. I have no idea whether you have kids or not, what I said was, "I guess" you didn't have kids to be saddled with our debt. Most folks I know who do are really worried about not being able to leave a better world to their children than they inherited - thanks to Obama and his wild spending sprees.
Some posters are like:: - Beebees on a deserted highway
[ In Reply To ..]
They make a lot of noise, roll around aimlessly with no goal in sight. Guess twisting what someone else posts brings the attention back to them and they get to bask in that attention again, ever so briefly. Gotta feel sorry for someone with the inability to see the damage being done by Obama because they are so blinded by his imaginery halo, and their ideology.

All I hear is Romney has no plan. Well Obama sure has HE__ __ does not have a plan other than to screw this country as far as he can into demise.

Oh and before we have someone don the role of board suffragett and cry to board monitor, get your mind out of the gutter and look up the meaning of "screw".
If you cannot correctly quote a poster::Seems you - should give it up

and stop twtisting posts, attributing comments to them they did not make. Reflects your lack of credibility and inability to state a fact without putting your "spin" on it. It is very "rude". Just sayin'
I just love that term "holding the budget hostage". - Remind me of...
[ In Reply To ..]
That saying:

“Now repeat after me….without wands please….repeat after me, Riddikulus!”

Pssst...in case you didn't know this nobody is "holding the budget hostage". There is no such thing. All that saying is good for is a laugh. It's just Riddikulus.

And thank God for those Republicans. Wish they - had acted sooner.

[ In Reply To ..]
I've no idea how we're going to repair the damage that Obama's done. Worst, most inept, most socialist President in US history - and worse than Carter by light years.

This "blocked" mantra nothing but Dem talking point"" - Obama had MAJORITY OF BOTH

[ In Reply To ..]
To avoid the ever-sickening attempt at political education, WE ALL KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SUPER MAJORITY AND A MAJORITY.

Obama had a MAJORITY (note there is no mention of "super" in the sentence) in both houses. And Bush dealt with a Democrat majority his last 2 years.

Dems have run this country into the ground, are totally incompetent and some of the most economically remedial bunch walking.
Funny how they always forget that fact. (sm) - LM
[ In Reply To ..]
Republicans blocking, Republicans obstructionists. Why didn't O take care of things when he had both houses like Bush did? They are incompetent, just can't admit it.
They have very selective memories::especially - when it comes to Commie Obammie
[ In Reply To ..]
Yea - his faithful minions do everything they are told, include throw out any common sense, personal responsibility or accountability for any of their actions. Just gotta read this board to see that.

That was Mitch McConnell and he's in the SENATE which, as you know, - backwards typist

is totally controlled by the Democrats. So, truthfully, that argument doesn't hold water.

The Democrats are also to blame for the hatred. Listen to them...they never talk about bipartisanship. They always blame the Republicans, while the Republicans wanted bipartisanship. Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Waxman, Jackson-Lee, Wasserman-Schultz, Hoyer, and many others have spouted hatred out loud against the Republicans.

I watch CSPAN, CSPAN2, and CSPAN3. No matter what the House Republicans voted and passed, the Democrats blocked (Harry Reid-"We're not bringing any republican bills to a vote"). So I guess it's been tit-for-tat.

Another reminder is the Democrats had control of both House and Senate for 4 years...2006 through 2010. Why didn't they get anything done then? I'll tell you why....they were too busy trying to win re-election for themselves and for the president.

IMHO, both are to blame but I blame the Democrats more than the Republicans. I hate liars.

I know this post will be flamed big time, so go right ahead. Doesn't bother me one bit. I know which side is more truthful. :-)

Democrats in significant numbers voted for - all of those "pre-Obama" spending measur

[ In Reply To ..]
And it was LIBERAL policies, not conservative, that led directly to the nation's fiscal collapse. It was Barney Frank, Schumer and their (your) kind who insisted that "everyone" should be able to buy a home and pushed banks, mortgage lenders and even Fannie Mae to make these reckless, stupid loans. It was your boy Obama who was organizing people to hijack bank board meetings and threatening them if they didn't make these loans.

As for Republicans "fighting Obama", thank God for that. We're still at least a few dollars shy of becoming Greece.

I will still support O, but - I do wish he had focused on

[ In Reply To ..]
the economy more than health care reform. Better yet, he just should have conceded to Gramps McCain and Caribou Barbie who really would have put the final nail in the republican coffin.

Washington (CNN) – There is no daylight between his vote against raising the debt ceiling as a senator in 2006 and his call for Congress to increase the limit in the next 10 days, President Barack Obama said Wednesday. “Nothing has changed,” Obama told WFLA in an interview. “I voted against a debt ceiling increase at the time because I had some concerns about what President (George W.) 10 Reasons Not To Get The Flu ShotOct 27, 2010
The verdict is out on flu shots. Many medical experts now agree it is more important to protect yourself and your family from the flu vaccine than the flu itself. Let’s take a look at the reasons behind this verdict: 1.) There is a total lack of real evidence that young children even benefit from flu shots.  A systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. Also the shots are on ...

These transcend party: 1. Hillary Clinton is utterly devoid of moral character. 2. Reasons Not To Dismantle/Destroy MedicareApr 12, 2011
I was just thinking about the long-term ramifications of dismantling or changing Medicare so that it does not cover healthcare needs of the elderly.
