1001 reasons not to vote for Obama. (sm)

Posted: Aug 26, 2012

Since I don't know whether we are or are not supposed to post links in the proper place, I will post it, and if moderators don't want me to, I guess they will tell me.  Sorry if I'm violating any rules, but I really don't know.

She did not cut and paste. She posted a link in the proper place and there was nothing wrong with her post. Trying to belittle a poster because you disagree with them is wrong and this is not the place for it. Stick to issues.

If you have a link with a list, by all means you are free to post too.

totally uncalled for - sm

If you're so concerned with belittling, keep your eyes peeled. No need to wait for some feckless poster to complain. Your censure is totally uncalled for. The poster was not belittling the OP - there is nothing wrong with rebuttal.
You have the option to agree or disagree. I did not censure - Moderator

A poster was concerned that she was violating the rules. She was not. She posted exactly the way she should have. There is a place to apply a link to an article someone wants to post. She did nothing wrong (except evidently post a link someone did not like). Yet she was replied to with a post trying to belittle with a "cut and paste" comment. I simply stated if any poster does not like someones post then just skip by them. There was no need for the comment she received.

Everyone is free to post articles no matter what side of the isle they are on. You too can post articles and I'm sure you would hope not to get the same comments she received.

I replied to her saying she did nothing wrong and I replied to the snarky cut and past comment that there was no need for that. No, there is nothing wrong with a rebuttal. A rebuttal would include information about the subject being discussed, not a snarky comment.

I did not censure anyone. Your reply to me was totally uncalled for, but I will leave it up. I don't want anyone to think I'm censuring you.
sure you did : ) - sm

I don't think anyone had a problem with the OP posting a link. (I know I always appreciate one!) I took the respondent to be throwing out a challenge to the left to create a similar list for Romney. I just didn't interpret that as the poster "trying to belittle". Sorry if I bugged you.
Again, there was no censure - Moderator

I left her message intact. I did not censure it (i.e. revise or delete). The message was a general and what I have been saying over and over on this board. If people don't like other peoples messages, just skip by them instead of leaving comments people shouldn't. The issue was not with creating a similar list for Romney. The issue was with the "cut and paste" comment.

Stick to issues.
censure and censor are two different words - nm

Doubt you are going to change anyone's mind - on this board, either way

#157. Actually, the president bowled a 37.

Hey, I didn't make up the list, I just posted it.(sm) - Aunt Sue

Kind of sad that you read through all this just to pick out one you didn't like. Most of us have other things to do. LOL - So sorry.

And yet you had the time to post it....sm - JTBB

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm guessing you just saw the title and went with it as opposed to actually paying any attention to what you were actually posting. The one I picked out was just to point out just how ridiculous this list is. My personal favorites though are the ones complaining that Obama hasn't done enough about global warming. Is this supposed to further the cause of the far left, or are you taking exception to the fact that he hasn't addressed something your party doesn't even believe in?

How's that hurricaine working out for ya? Global warming? or is your god just pissed off at republicans?

lol! - nm

assinations, the War, making a mistake and blaming it on someone else, rendition, Cuba, cutting aid, etc, etc, etc. Get it? Probably not.

Your post is in the proper order - Moderator

You are not violating any rules. Your post is perfectly fine. That is what this board is for. To post ideas, links, etc.

If people don't like your posts, they can recognize your moniker and just skip by your post. There is no need for anyone to be rude towards a poster just because they don't agree with them.

vote for him this election. I'm not posting this to start a war here. When he was campaigning the first time, I listened very closely to what he had to say. I was almost ready to vote for him but then I realized he could NEVER accomplish those goals without putting our country further in debt. I'm posting this as a reminder that he did everything just the opposite of every statement and campaign "promise" he made concerning our country while a senator: "The fact that we are ...

Must Vote Obama Out To Get Bernanke Out. Sep 15, 2012
The Fed's latest move ("QE3") involves printing even more counterfeit money and doing even more of the same thing while expecting a different result.  And you know what that is - insanity.  But Bernanke hopes it will artificially pump up the economy (although buying up mortgage-backed securities does NOTHING to create jobs or generate real economic growth). Stock traders liked it because the stock market has become a day-trading institution.  They're on a sugar high, an ...

Is A Vote For Obama An Act Of Treason?Sep 18, 2012
Let's say, for the sake of discussion, that we can all probably agree that treason against the United States is an act that provides "aid and comfort to the enemy". Could a vote provide aid and comfort to the enemy? Yes, it can.  Just vote for the man who is very deliberately reducing the strength and influence of the United States in the world.  If you care to respond, here are the rules, or they don't count:  Show how a vote for Barack Obama does not qualify as an a ...

Obama Defends 2006 Vote Against The Debt Ceiling. SMOct 16, 2013
Washington (CNN) – There is no daylight between his vote against raising the debt ceiling as a senator in 2006 and his call for Congress to increase the limit in the next 10 days, President Barack Obama said Wednesday. “Nothing has changed,” Obama told WFLA in an interview. “I voted against a debt ceiling increase at the time because I had some concerns about what President (George W.) Bush was doing.” The president said he has “no problem” if members of Congress choose to v ...

many of you voted for Trump is because you said he wouldn't owe any favors to anyone.  Well folks, six of his new appointees contributed 12 million dollars to his campaign.  So much for his self-funding.  If Jack the Ripper were alive and had been able to contribute a million he probably would have appointed him to head Health and Human Services. ...

10 Reasons Not To Get The Flu ShotOct 27, 2010
The verdict is out on flu shots. Many medical experts now agree it is more important to protect yourself and your family from the flu vaccine than the flu itself. Let’s take a look at the reasons behind this verdict: 1.) There is a total lack of real evidence that young children even benefit from flu shots.  A systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. Also the shots are on ...

Reasons To ChooseOct 08, 2016
Looking over the posts on the political board, I am stunned by the vitriolic posts. For the top office in the land, we are hiring someone for 4 years. We are the interviewer and the employer. We don't have to like the person, don't have to eat holiday dinner with the person, don't even have to watch the person on TV. We have 2 contenders, one will hold the office. That person has to know how to do the job and how to get congress (which is way more crucial than the president) to ...

Interesting. The Guardian.uk Has Some Reasons WhyMar 18, 2011
Ghadaffi called for the cease fire. "Beware of getting what you wish for. The ceasefire Colonel Gaddafi has just announced is not a vindication of the decision of the UN security council to get tough, nor a result of the wide backing the vote got from the Arab League and, unusually, three members of the African Union. It is the calculation of a man who, contrary to popular opinion is not mad, but behaving quite rationally. It is the move of a man who is trying to counter the threat o ...

Let's All Remember The 3 Main Reasons Hillary MustSep 23, 2016
These transcend party: 1. Hillary Clinton is utterly devoid of moral character. 2. Hillary Clinton betrayed her office and peddled influence on a scale that even Boss Tweed would have found staggering. 3. Hillary Clinton is entrenched in exactly the old-time back-room inside-dealing power structure of which this nation has had more than enough - on both sides of the aisle. However reluctant some might be to admit it, we all know that these three things are true. Any one of them is suffic ...

Reasons Not To Dismantle/Destroy MedicareApr 12, 2011
I was just thinking about the long-term ramifications of dismantling or changing Medicare so that it does not cover healthcare needs of the elderly. One important one that originally came to mind was that many people who are now in nursing homes or assisted living won't be able to afford it. They will need to move in with their children unless the children can afford to pay the difference, of course. That will come out of the college fund for families in some case when there just isn' ...
