Why do they say God does not give you more

than you can handle? Oh yes he does!! Otherwise, why are there so many suicides??? Okay I am most definitely not suicidal, but my situation that seemed horrible 3 years ago has only gotten worse and will never get better. I pray, but it never does any good. I give up!

God is just something that the man needed many years ago to explain our existence. We are not primative anymore and know better. We make our life what it is and no supernatural being does it for us. Otherwise, why would people say, God was watching over me when the tornado hit, but then nextdoor the baby was killed in it, why wouldn't he have been watching over that baby. I just thing it is crazy for us to believe in it now.

Sorry to hear you're suffering. God will make a way out if you trust him. Sometimes the way of escape is to get yourself out of the stressful situation.

I don't presume to know your situation or what specifically you pray for and not trying to belittle your situation or feelings and not trying to be offensive or judgmental either.

IMO, oftentimes people pray for or seek help in fixing a particular situation when what we all really need to pray for or seek is the strength/ability to handle the situation and to accept it and the outcome.

Sometimes what we see as the "right" outcome is not what is right from another perspect and oftentimes it is not the outcome that happens -- what we need is to be able to accept/deal with/handle whatever the greater plan is and accept the fact that what we think might be the "right" outcome is not, in fact, what will or should happen.

I don't know if I made sense there -- and, again, not presuming to know your particular situation -- but maybe take a step back and look at the whole thing from another perspective?

sometimes what we are going through is completely our fault because of our choices or because of other peoples sins and we are greatly affected by them. A big misconception is when things don't go our way, we blame God or accuse Him of not answering our prayers. He does answer prayers, He may say yes, no or wait, but He does answer them. I would have to ask you first; are you sincerely seeking His will or are you just wanting the "right" answer you want to hear, second; where is your relationship with God...where is your heart...truly seeking Him no matter what happens good or bad, or treating him like a genie? Please remember this, He died for you on the cross, a very painful agonizing death just like you were the only person in the world. Is that not enough just to be thankful for that and be content in Him only no matter what you are going through? Or is your relationship with Him based on how life is treating you? If it is the latter, then I would encourage you to get firmly rooted in Him and not base your relationship on your circumstances, but solely in Christ alone. Ask him with a sincere heart to help you to love Him that way and to have a right heart before Him. He will help you if you sincerely want it.

I was always taught God can do anything and that is what I always expect. Rather than thanking Him for what I do have, I get so mad at Him for NOT taking away a horrible situation (it involves my 2 kids and no one will help). I am going to pray for the strength to get through this. I know He will give me the strength, but it is going to be a loooooong 5 years!

I have to say, I was very impressed by your admission that you need to look at things from a different perspective. You've already won 2/3 of the battle right there, my friend!!! The rest might not be easy, but you KNOW you're not alone. You have all the strength you'll ever need if you lean on the Lord, and that means that you'll never have more than you can handle!!! Isn't that comforting in and of itself??

Have you been taking the time to listen to God's word preached? How can you believe if you have not heard? Turn to God, pray and listen to Him, **through the Bible, through sermons.** Seek out a solid preacher/elder to counsel you. God knows our hearts, our strengths and our weaknesses. By going through trials, we grow -- spiritually. Even Job wondered for awhile if God was caring at all about him. God has reasons beyond our understanding that he allows some things to happen. Hang in there. Trust Him, and gain **knowledge** about him.

Now that you give up, He can step in. You can't just pray and expect results. You have to get out of His way and let him show you how to live by blind faith. I was within 10 days of being evicted and having a small child to care for. I put it in His hands and my world has been changed, complete 180. Deal with what you have to deal with today and leave the rest to Him to take care of you. He really does want good things for you.

When you pray, he hears more than you say. He gives more than you ask. He care mores than you can imagine. He answers in his own way and his own time.

Think about these words. It is so complicated that you can not see it, yet so simple. We do not always get what we want when we want it.

Have you tried counseling? If you can not change your situation that you are so unhappy about, maybe counseling will help you deal with it better and still find some joy in your life because life really is too short to be miserable all the time. I believe that help, and God, is there for you but you have to reach out and take it. There is to be sacrifice on your part, I am sure, but wouldn't you feel better if you did not keep praying for answers and an outcome that you do not get and instead accept what is to be - and still be happy in life however it is possible for you?

Try to think this through. You will not always get the outcome you desire, but you need the wisdom to accept that and figure out what you are supposed to do with it. Good luck to you, my dear. I wish very good things for you.

I am sending you good thoughts too, but I just wanted to say thanks for posting what you did. I cannot begin to understand your situation, but I can identify with the feeling of wanting to give up. Whether you believe in a higher being or not, it is important that we not live our short lives constantly miserable.

DO NOT PUT OFF BEING HAPPY. Try to start today. You may have conflict and pain in your life, everyone does. It could be any number of things that negatively affect you and make you unhappy whether you brought it on yourself or it was inflicted upon you. Refuse to constantly be a victim.

Set aside an appropriate time to grieve, plan, be depressed, plan and confronting your problems. This is certainly necessary. Then let it go, if only temporarily. Otherwise, do not wait for that new home, bigger home, better car, new job, having your debts paid off, and on and on. You must try to find happiness every day. None of us are promised tomorrow, and if you wait for things in life to change in order to be happy, you may never get the chance. Take control.

Do something you enjoy, meditate, sew, garden, read, workout - whatever helps you escape the reality of your problems and find some peace. Please do not cheat yourself by wasting precious time in life.

I am certainly no therapist, but my Dad used to tell me that the best therapy in life is to smile. If you cannot do that yourself, try to make a conscious effort to make someone else smile EVERY DAY, whether it is someone you know, or someone you greet on the street. EVERY SINGLE DAY make 1 person smile somehow. You will be surprised at what it does for YOU. Try it.

Remember, do not put off making yourself happy for any reason. Don't wait until it is too late.

Well, nothing is working on my feet, ankles and legs. They are kind of down in the morning and whether or not I put my compression hose on or not, they balloon up in about 2-3 minutes. I finally got put on Lasix 20 mg for a month and then have to call him again. I don't think it is enough to get my legs down. I can't pee much and still have diarrhea. I have an antique seed drawer that I use as my kitchen island, and in the glass doors I have different pastas, beans, etc. It is beautiful. I want to ask for prayer. I have been put on 100% QA for not passing an audit this week, making some critical erros and just feeling really bad about myself.
