Response to suggestion to watch "The Talk"

Posted: Feb 8, 2011

There was a discussion last month about "The VIew" and how revolting it has gotten. Someone on here suggested watching "The Talk", which I have recorded and have watched 6 or so shows, rarely the whole show.  I can't say I'm crazy about it.  Seems like they are all too much alike and not spontaneous.   I guess my favorite would be the one that sits by the host, the one married to the football player.  As much as I liked Leah Remini on King of Queens, I find her over-reacting somewhat, but yets she is probably the most entertaining of the group.

While Leah Remini is a lot like the chracter she played on Queens, I find Sarah GIlbert is exactly the opposite of her character on Roseanne.  I'm surprised and disappointed to find her so docile and I find it annyoing with the constant smile on her face.  Don't know why...I guess I'm weird.

I still check in on "The View", but never watch it in full either.  It's getting boring....they really need to make a change.  We know how they all feel, what they are going to say, etc.

My Suggestion Would Be.....Aug 31, 2012
to remove the "politics board" entirely and "ban" the "troublemakers" (and we ALL know who they are) until well after the elections.  The elections are not that far off and banning has been done previously for a 3 month period of time of others who challenge the rules.  I just read all of the posts underneath the Moderators rules and reasons for removing some posts about Mr. Eastwood, and those posts too were disrespectful and "challenging."  I am appalled that anyone would ...

HOWSers for OWSers  With the deaths of occupiers in these encampments, the ongoing violence, drug use, and now the shutting down of some of these encampments, why don’t you staunch OWS supporters/defenders open up your homes to them?   ...

Suggestion For Bathroom RugsOct 05, 2015
Does anyone know of a good brand of bathroom rugs? I am really tired of buying nice rugs and having them last only until the first or second wash. After that, the backing begins to dissolve and crumble and/or the rug loops themselves become frayed and I find tiny rug strands everywhere. My current rugs are from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I don't know the brand, but they're the ones inventoried on their shelving with all the matching towels. I don't mind if I have to pay a little b ...

Right's Response To SummitFeb 26, 2010
The talking point distributed on Fox was that the summit was "boring."  It is a major flaw, I guess, of this presidency that Obama does not make his meetings on crucial legislation interesting enough to entertain the opposition. Awwww.  In other words - look away - the right came off badly and Obama's directness, honesty and tendency to point out political posturing triumphed again.   ...

Some of our posts were deleted and I just wanted to answer one specific question you asked me before you had to leave.  You asked me if I would be angry and/or upset if, God forbid, President Obama was assassinated. I will never condone, encourage, or rejoice in the assassination of our president.  To wish death upon our president is extremist behavior and I do not condone those who called for Bush's death nor do I condone those who call for Obama's death.  I know I ow ...

did this so I am just sharing for anyone interested. Dear Friend, As the first year of the Obama Administration concludes with the State of the Union, the White House is inviting Americans across the country to connect directly with some of the President’s senior advisors.  Through WhiteHouse.gov, these leaders will report to you on their work and answer your questions on where we’ve been, where we are, and where we’re heading. In Response To Below Re: Why Are You Voting For TrumpJul 24, 2016
It is painfully obvious that President Obama used the tools he had available in order to do something. Unfortunately, the only thing republicans (the ones in control of congress) know is dictatorship - they know nothing about real life and how one has to compromise. I do it all day, every day in my life or I would not have a job let alone a husband or relationships. When you lose at a game or an election, you then have to play fair. They have acted like spoiled little losers and it makes me asha ...

I heard Ivanka sat in Trump's seat at the G2 and personally don't think she had any business being there.  This whole Trump "Royal family" disgusts me.  Of course a Trump supporter would find nothing wrong with the fact that she had no business even being there but she didn't.  Call it petty if you want but this family just thinks they can do whatever they want and what is more disgusting is that they are getting away with it.  When are the pubs in congress goi ...

Republican Talking Point ResponseMay 10, 2012
heard this last night on Mathews, this morning on Joe and now from Hasselbach on the View - (read with whining tone).  "Why-y-y-y didnt Dick Cheney get credit for saying he was for gay marriage?"   I imagine decent, thinking republicans are getting absolutely sick of the moaning and crying and belittling EVERY TIME the president says or does something.  Live YOUR life, not someone elses.   ...

The TalkOct 06, 2011
Anybody watch The Talk?  Do you like it now that Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini have been fired?  I thought it was great when it first started, the chemistry between the ladies was so fun.  Leah was over the top sometimes but she was funny, interesting and brought a lot to the table, same for Holly.  I can't stand watching it anymore.  Molly Shannon is just plain weird the way she talks with her claw hands.  The woman who sits in Leah's seat has abso ...

My thoughts exactly. Absolutely impossible to post anything on this board that might in the least be able to be twisted into a negative against Pres Obama. I taught my sons and now my grandchildren first and foremost to be honest to establish a character that others can trust and respect, to be compassionate, to be open-minded but to be true and not swayed from their established values. I think almost any open-minded individual reading this board would agree there is very much a bullying nature ...

The Tolerance Thread/response/re Byrd/one PersonMar 19, 2013
It seems to have disappeared.  I'm not going to inquire about why it's gone, but I did want to repost my reply regarding associating modern-day Democrats with Byrd and the fact that there was only one person caught making a statement on tape.  --Byrd  was over 40 years ago. Surely we can't use Robert Byrd and other racist Southern Democrats circa pre-1960s as examples of who modern day Democrats identify with, no more than we could use Lincoln as a modern day R ...

Republicans Mull Response To Obama On ImmigrationNov 15, 2014
WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans debated Friday how to respond to President Barack Obama's expected executive action on immigration, with GOP leaders anxious to craft a solution that satisfies the demands of their most conservative members without courting a government shutdown. Another option would be to pass a temporary spending bill into next year when the GOP will control the Senate, to try to see if Republicans can use their grip on the purse strings to gain leverage over the ...

Obama :: They Talk About Me Like A Dog ..Sep 07, 2010
Has President Obama been listening to a lot of Jimi Hendrix lately?  With just under two months to go before Election Day, Obama kicked off the fall campaign season Monday with an aggressive speech targeting Republicans. But it was an off-script moment in the speech that's attracted the most attention, as Obama accused his GOP critics of talking about him "like a dog.""Some powerful interests who had been dominating the agenda in Washington for a very long time -- and they're not ...

Let's Talk Issues....smAug 01, 2012
Since it has been brought up that libs supposedly don't want to talk issues, let's do just that... Issue 1: Foreign policy: What exactly is it that Romney would do different from Obama in the middle east? Issue 2: Besides trying to kill Obamacare and therefore healthcare for tons of people, as well as lowering taxes for the rich, what is it exactly that Romney would do to improve the economy? I'm assuming pubs have the answers to these questions as they are so sure that Romn ...

Doctors Trying To Talk Down To Me, Really?Mar 19, 2013
I am wondering if others run into what I have or is this just me who seems to have a bull's eye on them and others think they can say what they want and I will not respond. Anyway, this morning I went back to the ophthalmologist, had cataract surgery about 3 weeks ago. I noticed the first visit the day after surgery he seemed a little put off like he might have been a little huffy but nothing else happened that time.
