republican talking point response

Posted: May 10, 2012

heard this last night on Mathews, this morning on Joe and now from Hasselbach on the View - (read with whining tone).  "Why-y-y-y didnt Dick Cheney get credit for saying he was for gay marriage?"   I imagine decent, thinking republicans are getting absolutely sick of the moaning and crying and belittling EVERY TIME the president says or does something.  Live YOUR life, not someone elses.

I am sick of the moaning and crying - sm

from Mathews, Joe, and all the other democrats that for some reason think republicans are moaning and crying every time the president says or does something.

That's really getting old. Thought they were told before that lie isn't working anymore but it keeps being repeated.

I would like to see "every" issue, everything the president has said or done something that a republican was moaning and crying and belittling. Remember now, that is "everything" per your own words.

If you want to talk about fighting against moaning crying and belittling everything the president says or does I'd love to discuss Bush with you. Because it was happening under him.

Dick Cheney was just what his name is. I thought Cheney was for gay marriage all along, but particularly I don't care. I'm for gay marriage but it doesn't run my life or affect my decision on who to vote for. I'm glad the president said he is for it (which of course he would be), but I'm glad he came out and said it. Just wish he would have said it at any point during his term rather than just before the election.

Obama's evolution (trying not to laugh) - msg - Aunt Sue

The only reason he said this now is because of Joe Biden's remarks. I actually heard some jerk from MSNBC saying, 'his evolution is complete.' OMG. Unreal. The media is surely dead.

Obama's evolution - bought and paid for -New York Times

not a liberal rag, laid it all out there about how the evolution occurred. Five of BO's largest bundlers are gay, were sitting on approximately 20% of his campaign cash and refused to cut it loose or continue fundraisers. A week later, zap! All of a sudden Obama had an epiphany after "struggling" for years to support gay marriage. We all know what they say about WHO_ ES (fill in the blank with an "R")...you just need to agree on a price. Guess we all know what BOs price is now.

Yeah, well, Romney flip flops, yet Obama evolves. - Hope he evolves right out of the WH. nm

It is a fact that BOTH sides of the aisle refuse to give credit to the other side on certain matters. Dick Cheney being for gay marriage wasn't news worthy to the media. Heck, Laura Bush being for gay marriage wasn't either. But hey...Barack and Michelle support it......HEADLINE NEWS!!!!

I am just amazed that people have fallen for this political game of the presidents like this. The president waited until an election year to come out to support gay marriage. Until Obama is willing to actually do something to help make it legal, his verbal support doesn't mean squat.

I would have found his support more sincere had it been done not in an election year and had he actually made reference to trying to help them make same-sex marriage legal.

This was nothing but a ploy to get the gay community's vote and many people have obviously fallen for it. Obama is not going to do anything personally to help make gay marriage legal. But woo hoo...he supports it. Vote for him, right?

same old same old - cant win for losing

Obama criticized for making statement before election. What do you suppose his enemies would have said if he waited until after the election? see the point? They just take the reflexive opposite side, no matter what.

Right's Response To SummitFeb 26, 2010
The talking point distributed on Fox was that the summit was "boring."  It is a major flaw, I guess, of this presidency that Obama does not make his meetings on crucial legislation interesting enough to entertain the opposition. Awwww.  In other words - look away - the right came off badly and Obama's directness, honesty and tendency to point out political posturing triumphed again.   ...

In Response To Below Re: Why Are You Voting For TrumpJul 24, 2016
It is painfully obvious that President Obama used the tools he had available in order to do something. Unfortunately, the only thing republicans (the ones in control of congress) know is dictatorship - they know nothing about real life and how one has to compromise. I do it all day, every day in my life or I would not have a job let alone a husband or relationships. When you lose at a game or an election, you then have to play fair. They have acted like spoiled little losers and it makes me asha ...

I heard Ivanka sat in Trump's seat at the G2 and personally don't think she had any business being there.  This whole Trump "Royal family" disgusts me.  Of course a Trump supporter would find nothing wrong with the fact that she had no business even being there but she didn't.  Call it petty if you want but this family just thinks they can do whatever they want and what is more disgusting is that they are getting away with it.  When are the pubs in congress goi ...

My thoughts exactly. Absolutely impossible to post anything on this board that might in the least be able to be twisted into a negative against Pres Obama. Republicans Mull Response To Obama On ImmigrationNov 15, 2014
WASHINGTON (AP) — House Republicans debated Friday how to respond to President Barack Obama's expected executive action on immigration, with GOP leaders anxious to craft a solution that satisfies the demands of their most conservative members without courting a government shutdown. Another option would be to pass a temporary spending bill into next year when the GOP will control the Senate, to try to see if Republicans can use their grip on the purse strings to gain leverage over the ...

Funny, The Difference Between Charleston's Response To The Church IncidentJun 23, 2015
Wonderful how the community came together - people of alll races, political persuasions, etc.  After Ferguson, etc., it was the most amazing display I think I've seen of this type in a pretty long lifetime. The Republican StrategyFeb 19, 2010
It takes awhile to make sense of the entrails of the Republican Party, partly because they are just so toxic, but also because it's actually difficult to comprehend that an American political party can so deliberately sabotage its own government and nation. But after observing their behavior and their policy of, "Just Say No" -- sometimes to their own suggestions, one can only surmise that they long ago left the business of governing and have instead agreed to a covert game plan of destruc ...
