My Suggestion Would Be.....

to remove the "politics board" entirely and "ban" the "troublemakers" (and we ALL know who they are) until well after the elections. The elections are not that far off and banning has been done previously for a 3 month period of time of others who challenge the rules.

I just read all of the posts underneath the Moderators rules and reasons for removing some posts about Mr. Eastwood, and those posts too were disrespectful and "challenging." I am appalled that anyone would be so disrespectful to someone in authority who expects civility in peoples postings!

I have been a "victim" of some of the bashing that goes on here on the politics board myself and rarely post any longer because the responses I have recieved for even the tiniest remark are hateful and bullish and it makes me angry and turns me into someone I am not and someone I do not like or wish to be. The bullys seem to think that if they spout their venom long enough, only THEIR opinions will matter and everyone will FOLLOW them. God save us all if this is even the tiniest example of the types of people left in this country or who will end up running this country one day!

OH! and because I just invoked the "GOD" word, I can imagine this will be "reported" and end up on the "faith board" now, as well.

The bullys run this board and it is time to remove it! They will no longer have a playground in which to spread their hate!

You raise some valid points, but closing down a board gives bullies exactly what they want - domination and control. I have been called fat (I'm a six 6), bulemic, crazy, rude, ignorant, stupid (I am very well educated), liar, my "writing style was recognized", my "time stamps " were being watched, they "know" who I am, my posts have been lied about, my posts have been misstated. So what I say? What do any of those things have to do with politics. I refuse to give up MY FREE SPEECH because someone has so little self control it is impossible for them to bypass a post they don't like. Or, their lives are so shallow and lacking, they come on here, dominate this board and then write horrible things to anyone that is not in lock step with them because they are so starved for attention in their personal lives. Tells you more about the board bullies than the people they are responding to.

They think they have everything figured out and only they have a clue. Reading some of the horrible comments they have made to posters about "knowing who they are" etc., a thought occurred to me. How do these board bullies know whether or not all the posters that are sick of all their disgusting comments and their little catch phrases they think are hysterical, have not gotten together and all write similarly just because they are sick of the constant harrassment, whether you use a moniker or not?

They are like mosquitos - If you ignore them, they either die off or move onto another "target".

This is a free board. No one makes anyone come here. If it is so stressful for a poster to read a post and do not move onto acceptable posts they have an interest in without responding, they own that. Those of us with dignity, common sense and manners exercise the necessary restraint in ignoring the board bullies.

I have no intention of getting off this board because bullies think they have a right harrass, and intimidate people because of a different POV. I will never start something with another poster, but I will NEVER BACK down from these bullies. I will make it my mission to aggravate the living H_LL out of them as long as they make it a mission to insult and harrass posters.

but because they pretty much have "free rein" on this board to say anything they want and get away with it, they have fully taken advantage of it. I do not see these same people on any of the other boards, except maybe the faith board, trying to monopolize any and all posts, and to elucidate their own agendas so much as this board. I do try to ignore their rantings and do not often put myself into their target sites, but occasionally it happens, whether I intend it to or not. It just seems that nobody can post anything that is contrary to what they want to think or believe, or what they want others to think and believe. They are the epitomy of exactly what they are trying to preach to the choir. It gets tiresome after a while. so my suggestion was to take away the very ground that they walk on and maybe, just maybe, they will go away. although probably not, sadly. they will seek out another victim somewhere, for sure. By some of the things you have said in your post, I may not know who you are personally, but I surely know the attacks that have been put in your direction, as well. It is not fun! and as much as I don't want to back down from these bullies either, sometimes it is easier to just not frequent the board at all, which is exactly what they want, as well. They do not want anyone with differing opinions to challenge their tunnel visioned thinking. I appreciate your opinion on this, believe me. Goes to show that some people can have differing POV and not need to attack each other because of it. have a very nice holiday this weekend.

I have been hit pretty hard, as well, for no reason other than my moniker...LOL. Someome that behaves in that manner never attracts supporters to their side; quite the contrary. I will never go to someone else's side because of their sarcasm or ridicule. I also have gone through all the abuse that the first poster responding to you has stated. It is just very childish. If someone wants to play detective, let them. It keeps them from bothering someone else.

I am strong enough in my faith, my knowledge, and my education that I do not have to rely on their feedback or acceptance to feel good about myself or my life. Unfortunately, it seems that the troublemakers cannot say the same thing.

I also do not agree with shutting down the board. In a matter of time, they will come back like migrating birds. Personally, I think it is best just to ignore them since attention is all they seem to be after. If they do not get it, the impact of their hateful comments dissipates. However, everyone will make the decision with which they are most comfortable. Enjoy your weekend!

Take a break from the board. When I hit a boiling point, when I'm ready to lash out in as equally a crude manner as is directed at my candidate or a fellow poster or me, I just stay away. I've tried not to cross the line, but I probably have. "Don't sink to that level, Bootstraps."

All of us have lives where we deal with people face-to-face, who theoretically could be anyone on this board, and we do it in a civil way. We would never think of talking to someone the way we address those we disagree with here.

No ones life is defined by this board. It is defined as how we live our lives, treat our neighbors, and how we make a difference in our communities.

Of course, it's also defined by our values and personal experiences, and these are the things that stoke the flames and bring out our passionate side here. And we all knows what happens when passion erupts!!!

And no one is going to change anyones mind either!! It's like we're all a bunch of drunk jocks duking it out before the Super Bowl.

Does anyone know of a good brand of bathroom rugs? I am really tired of buying nice rugs and having them last only until the first or second wash. After that, the backing begins to dissolve and crumble and/or the rug loops themselves become frayed and I find tiny rug strands everywhere. My current rugs are from Bed, Bath and Beyond. There was a discussion last month about "The VIew" and how revolting it has gotten.
