Dtr trying to talk me into getting pedicure.

I DO NOT have pretty feet and am pretty self conscious about doing this. Not even sure what to expect. Anyone here have them before?

I mean, do you WANT the relaxation part of it, or do you want the pretty toes part, or both? I have had them, but I'm not into someone playing with my feet. It isn't really relaxing to me, but like my best friend, she couldn't live without them.

I do, however, want pretty toes and I just go to Wal-Mart and buy the pack of toenails, cut my nails, sand them down and apply and they are BEAUTIFUL. They actually last longer than the ones I would get at the shop too. On mine, I get the french pedicure kind and they last about a month before they start growing out. I then just paint them myself and keep them painted another couple of months. They rarely get loose, but if they do I have the glue in my purse ready to go.

after I wound up with fungus. I do not fit the category for having, that being I wear open toed shoes most of the year, Bergies and do not care for socks. I caught toe fungus only after having pedicures and wound up having to have 1 toenail removed entirely and fought fungus for some time with other treatments. I never have 1 anymore although I do wear toenail polish and have that changed whenever I have my nails done.

I don't mind pedicures, except that my feet are horribly ticklish if someone touches them lightly, which makes it difficult. I do like the luxury of the foot massage and the leg massage.

I don't recommend it for someone who wears socks and shoes on a regular basis as it wears the polish off quickly--unless you do the "gel" type which is more costly. I live in my flip-flops year-round (warm climate here in FL), so that part is not an issue for me.

However, I have learned to do my own feetsies myself. I take a dish pan and soak my feet in warm water and epsom salts for about 15 minutes. Then I take some exfoliating bath wash and a wash cloth and scrub them up really good. I then clean and cut my toenails while they're still wet, because they're nice and soft.

I dry them well and apply my own polish. I like the red tones.

If you do choose to have it done on the outside, I would bring your own polish so you can touch them up as the polish wears off, or your toes grow.

I say go for it once, and then make a determination on if you want to have it done regularly.

FYI: I always, always put a clear top-coat on. It holds the polish longer.

I currently have a Dyson Animal which is about 7 tears old or so. It's great on carpet and I have no issues there BUT I don't have carpet anymore. The Dyson just doesn't do that well on the bare floor. I have tile floors and a boat load of cats, hence a boatload of cat hair. I need a phone just to connect to the internet on my home wifi. Straight Talk has phones you can get for free that are activated when you purchase a 30-day service plan. I really don't need to be able to talk, text, or use their data. Is anyone familiar with these phones? What happens when you do not purchase another 30-day plan?
