Psychiatric/behavioral health/women's work? Where to get it?

Posted: Jan 1, 2013

Hey could use some guidance!  After 15 years...I'd like to mainly work on psych/behavioral health or women's health work but don't know where to get it.  Any ideas?  I keep getting stuck with acute care that I've done forever...the next 2 yrs I need to do this I'd like to do mainly that.  Also, is there any company that does less than 20 hrs?  Just wondering.  Blessings on the New Year ladies (new to this electronic gig).  Kiss

;

Good luck - anon

Psych jobs are few and far between, and are snapped up immediately. And less than 20 hours a week? Forget it!

Obama For Women's Rights! See Differences In Health Issues... (sm)Nov 01, 2012
OBAMA signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to help women fight back against pay discrimination. He understands that when women are paid less than men for the same work, it hurts the entire family. ROMNEY refused to say whether or not he would have signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law, and Paul RYAN voted against it. OBAMA believes a woman’s health care choices are personal decisions, best made with her doctor—without interference from politicians. ROMNEY believ ...

Nine In Ten Of My Liberal Friends Are On Some Sort Of Psychiatric Medication.Feb 21, 2017
I don't think this is a coincidence.  They aren't shy about talking about it, either.  I mean, I'm all for medication to treat an illness, including mental illness, but I wouldn't broacast it.  What happened to pride?  It's like having a mental illness or a disorder is a badge of honor.  I am all for being oneself and having confidence, however, that used to mean having ethics, integrity, working hard and helping others.  Now it means being ...

Older Women Versus Younger Women And Trump/ClintonOct 10, 2016
Women who "like" Trump are invariably older and don't like Hilary Clinton because they were raised in an era of economic competition with each for men. In the old days, men generally took care of their women, and some women lucked out with good men and some stuck it out with bad ones. Young women can take care of themselves economically so aren't as threatened by other women so they're more apt to go for HIllary. Older women also don't like Clinton because she stuck with her ...

Stop Telling Us We Have To Pretend Men Are Women And Women Are MenAug 05, 2017
I have a lot of compassion for anyone who struggles with the biological gender with which they're born.  I can't imagine how confusing or painful that is.  However, I will NOT say you are a man when you're a woman or vice versa.  This asinine legislation about the bathrooms does not make sense.   Whatever your feeling is about this issue, ask yourself what is true.  Because the truth may be distasteful to someone does not make it untrue.  If you stru ...

Health Insurance Is A Poor Measure Of Health Care.Sep 14, 2011
On Tuesday, the Census Bureau released its annual report on health insurance coverage in the United States. News media widely misconstrued the data and presented the problems facing the nation's health care system through a distorted lens. Many major news outlets made a basic error when reporting on the Census Bureau study. The Los Angeles Times wrote that "the number of Americans with no health insurance rose in 2010 to 49.9 million from 49 million the year before." But the figure c ...

Health Care Reform-Question About Canadian Health CareDec 03, 2009
So....a friend is for our US health care reform (already retired and on Medicare) because he had no trouble going to Canada to get laser surgery on his eyes so he wouldn't have to wear glasses and states there is nothing wrong with the Canadian system....but, and I'm asking a serious question here, how long do people really wait for emergent surgery if they belong to the Canadian system versus the American system as we have it now? How did Canada get their health care system up and ru ...

Here Is What I Would Ask All Women, And Hope ThatOct 21, 2012
First, please use birth control whether it means that "you" have to "shoulder the burden" or not. Yes, it would be "reasonable", "fair", or "right" for men to share this responsibility with you, but please - LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD where a lot of men have absolutely NO control over their penises. Second, please come to the point that you truly comprehend the incalculable value of EVERY human life. If, for instance, I could tell you that the human being you are sending to the garbage heap was f ...

Women's Menstrual CupJan 04, 2014
First time I heard about this I thought that is just gross, but I was reading this website for other articles and saw this one that explains it.  Has anyone ever used one and what are your opinions on it.  If all you have to do is buy one cup and it lasts 10 years that would be a great savings on pads/tampons. Women's Protest - Really?Jan 22, 2017

Stereotype That Women Have More ShoesAug 04, 2010
http://www.mainstreet.com/article/sm...s&cm_ven=msIBS We’ve all heard the stereotype that women have more shoes than they know what to do with, but a new study provides some evidence for this claim. According to Glamour, the average woman will buy 469 pairs of shoes in her lifetime. All in all, she will end up spending $25,000 on shoes. So ladies, if you’re looking to cut corners, ditching the shoe addiction might be a good first step. This number comes from a survey of 3,000 ...
