My family all gather at my mom's house on Christmas eve to open presents and we all bring finger foods or appetizers and sweets. I need some new ideas. I always like to try new recipes, but I'm having some sort of mental block this year. I can't think of anything that sounds good. Not to mention I've been invited to a friend's annual Christmas party this weekend and she always asks me to bring the same old macaroni salad I always bring and I want to do something different. At my friend's party she serves turkey and ham, mashed potatoes, etc. and everyone brings a covered dish or something to that effect.
Maybe I'm just being a scrooge, but I'm having trouble getting into the spirit of things and can't think of anything I want to cook. HELP!
