Question now: Will I have to live under a bridge?

The new TrumpCare plan: Under AHCA (TrumpCare), a 64-year-old with a $26,500 in annual income will pay $14,600, or 55% of their income. That leaves you less than $12,000 a year to live on (or $1000/month) to pay your rent, food, taxes, heat, eletricity, transportation, maintenance. Guess that fancy cell phone is going to have to go.

Many, many, many of his supporters fall into this bracket. What the heck?

Get off your lazy butt, man, and haul Paul Ryan into your office and force him to fix this. Then you can go out there and tell all your fans that you fought for them and came through.

With such ever low expectations of Trump, especially by his supporters - they hold him to account for absolutely nothing and explain away every digression - he would be hailed as a hero and have them in thrall until the next election at least.

Even though I am decidedly anti-Trump, I would take that one for the team. Honestly, if he could do ANYTHING he promised re health care instead of let Paul Ryan in with his nasty nasty wrecking ball, I will cheer too.

What he said, from this article from Business Insider (in an interview with David Muir ABC 01/25/2017), was:

Yet perhaps the largest promise from Trump was the number of people he suggested his replacement would cover. Since the ACA's passage, more than 20 million Americans have gained access to health insurance, and the US uninsured rate has hit its lowest point ever.

Despite these gains, Trump said he didn't think the ACA had provided enough people with coverage. He told Muir his replacement would cover those the ACA had not.

"It's going to be — what my plan is is that I want to take care of everybody," Trump said. "I'm not going to leave the lower 20% that can't afford insurance." (Only about 10% of the US population currently does not have coverage.)

Trump reiterated his promise later in the interview.

"So I want to make sure that nobody's dying on the streets when I'm president," Trump said. "Nobody's going to be dying on the streets. We will unleash something that's going to be terrific."

Muir pressed the president on whether a replacement would mean that no one who had gained coverage because of the ACA would lose it.

"We want no one. We want the answer to be no one," Trump said, though he acknowledged that such a feat would be difficult.

TrumpCare is certainly NOT going to "take care of everybody." Unless by "take care" you mean in the sense that the Mafia mean that phrase.

Nobody dying on the streets? How about in their sad sad little houses and apartments? That okay with you?

How on earth did he let Ryan come out with that abominable plan that is completely contrary to what he said he wants (oh, was that what he meant by "complicated")?

Well, that's kind of what we expect from Trumpy. CEO, tweeting in the background, going off for a golfing vacay every weekend, having really nothing to do with anything, blaming everyone else when things go wrong.

The buck does not apparently stop with him, the buck just keeps going until he assesses the situation and decides who to badmouth and blame. What an utter child he is.

Regardless, if he were to come forth with a big production about how 50-64 year olds being shafted under this plan is simply not acceptable and to come up with something else, giving lip service to that would certainly make him a hero and many of us would take it (many of us who are 50-64 in low paying jobs and freaking out).

Who knows, maybe they planned it that way all the time? You never know with the theatrical reality show that is this White House.

In this case, even if they did, I'll take it. Please tell me they are not going to make older people pay half their income for health care insurance or go without. At the time of their lives that stuff starts going wrong and you need to keep on top of it, that is just simply inhumane.

It still amazes me that anyone believed anything Trump said during his campaign. He is not for the "average" people or poor people. He is going to screw everyone but his billionaire friends. Unfortunately, those that voted for him are going to realize this now that it is too late.

Anyone who believes the CBO should be buying the bridge - not living under it.

Including those who once applied for Medicaid, did qualify, but were denied.
