Feeling sorry for myself

So, it's been a really rough 6 months for my family (such as it is). We have lost an uncle, best friend, another friend, father, a dog (16 years old), a cat (15 years old) and a bird (28 years old). Never mind all the "fun" of being an MT. After sitting in this grief/pity party for ourselves, my DH and I decided that celebrating Christmas was just too much to bear. After much thought, I decided to check out this website I found and now instead of sitting around feeling out of sorts, we are shopping for Christmas for a family in the military that needs some help. In order to do this, we are not buying gifts for us, just them. And it's been such a lift to my spirits to help a small family who really wants the kiddos to have a good Christmas even though the dad is overseas and won't be home. So I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, because I didn't think I could do it this year. Turns out I was wrong. :)

I admire you for doing that. I lost my dad on Nov 30 from a very aggressive cancer. It showed up in late September, and he went downhill so fast, I just couldn't believe it. I still don't believe the reality of it has truly sunken in yet. I have developed a very painful sciatica, ran out of pain pills early and am going through withdrawals and trying to work. I'm so sorry you've been through so much, as I know how it feels. You are, indeed, doing a good thing. I just don't have it in me now to do anything. The best of luck to you and Merry Christmas. Had 2nd interview yesterday for a part-time job. Felt confident after 1st interview. Was tolld after 2nd that they would call me Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. I average only 14 gallons of gas per month. At $3.70 a gallon, that is over $51 a month. I walk my child to school. I combine trips. Every once in awhile I go on Ebay and just search for "medical transcription" items. I've found good buys in the past on various items (electronic spellcheckers, foot pedals, headphones, etc). I just found out my 2nd cat in 10 years likely has a cryptococcal fungal infection. The 1st one I did the whole treatment, surgery, biopsy, blood titers, fluconazole (150 bucks a month for a year), cost me over $2000. My husband had terrible lower back pain and went to the doctor last week and was told he most likely had sciatica.
