Anyone here ever order eyeglasses on line and

My prescription just ran out and needing a quick fill in. See really well from what I have now and just want a backup. ;

I have ordered glasses online and I was very happy with the glasses, plus it was so much cheaper that way. There are some measurements that you have to take to make sure the glasses are going to fit right and I don't recall exactly what they were but it was all explained to me on the site that I used so hopefully it will be that way on the site you use also. I'd give you the name of the site I used but I don't recall it...it has been a few years since I ordered online.

Zenni optical is great! You can actually "try on the frames," if you have a picture of yourself without glasses. The prescription has to be relatively recent, but I got 2 pairs from them for under $100 and I believe in less than a week.

and the glasses were fabulous. I just couldn't believe it. My optometrist charged over $400, and Zinni charged $50. The workmanship from Zinni was every bit as good as the optometrist's pair (which he also ordered from some remote site -- didn't make them in his own lab). I don't know how he can continue to charge such an exorbitant fee.

One thing I would mention: I didn't believe Zinni could actually make the glasses as well as they did (progressive lenses, astigmatism), so I ordered a slightly lower quality lens material than they recommended, so the glasses were heavier than I was used to. It's best to order exactly what they recommend...they know what they're talking about.

BTW, my optometrist was reluctant to let me have the prescription because he knew I would order more glasses online. He said I was foolish to do this because there was no way Zinni could fill the prescription accurately. Just so you know, the Rx belongs to you by law, so you can insist; in fact, s/he should offer it to you up front.

Just like dental x-rays, etc. are yours. And if you are ever refused, just threaten to report the offending party to their professional society and the BBB as well.

I was going to have some more glasses made where I originally bought 4 pairs, 1 regular and 3 sunglasses. My prescription was a year old in November, yes just over a year. I asked for the prescription, the lady said no where could I get this filled in my state, had to put expired on, I said ok. Got home, noticed spheres were different for the regular as compared to the sunglass prescription and I called back to ask why. Waited until finally the manager (?) called me and she stated you know you cannot get this filled anywhere here in Florida. I told her that was not the issue, I was calling to ask why the difference in the sphere numbers. I would have spent my money there but could not get another pair without an examination and just said no.

The judge blocked the law taking effect temporarily until a hearing is held and there will be a ruling on the merits. Were they were in special session or open session?
