A quirky (if somewhat personal) question

Posted: Feb 24, 2016

Do any of the women on here wear boxer shorts? I mean, MEN'S boxer shorts. The reason I ask is that I was complaining about the high cost of women's PJs and one of my friends told me she buys men's boxers at Walmart and sleeps in them with a large t-shirt for the top. I bought a 3-pack of boxers and found them amazingly comfortable! I was surprised to learn that two other women in our little group also wear boxers! Who knew? Somehow I just thought this was kind of funny.;

I've been wearing men's boxers to bed in the summer for a few years. They're super comfortable. I love them.

How did you know - sm

which size to buy? I have often thought about this as well but didn't want to waste money if they wouldn't fit. Not like you can try them on in the store :)

A measuring tape would be your friend--sm - anon

Most of men's clothes sizing is based on measurements so find your waist size and you should be able to find the right size for you. I really wished women's clothes were based on the common sense numbers of real measurements. It would be so much easier to look for pants that are a ** x ** inseam to find something that fits.

How to size boxers - Suzy

[ In Reply To ..]
Here is the sizing chart that comes with the brand I buy (Hanes):
Men's Boxers

US Size
Waist
(in inches)
S 30"-32"
M 34"-36"
L 38"-40"
XL 42"-44"
2X* 46"-48"

I always buy a size larger because I like them baggy for sleeping. Hope this helps! (You would be amazed at how many women I know wear boxers--some even for daytime underwear. As one woman told me today, "I love boxers because they are so much more comfortable than panties and they are only about a third of the price and last longer.")

I wear leggings in the winter and those skin tight shorts in the summer with a tank top. I really miss some Secret Treasures all cotton, very lightweight pajamas that were sold in Walmart about 5 years ago and never returned. They were all I would wear in this desert state with no AC. Some nights were so hot I had to get my pajamas wet and lay on the bed with the fan going.

I used to do that. - anon

When I was young and starting out on my own without a lot of money I bought men's boxers and T-shirts to wear as pajamas in the summer. One time my aunt, who is a nun, dropped in on me unexpectedly and my boxers were lying on the floor of my bedroom. She asked for a tour of my place and I was so embarrassed when I showed her my bedroom and the boxers were lying there on the floor. She didn't say anything, but I've always wondered if she thought I had a naked man hiding in the closet!

One of the dark, dirty secrets of the clothing industry - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
is that they always put a much higher markup on women's clothes than on men's or children's clothes. So if you can wear anything in men's or children's sizes you will save a bundle buying outside the women's department. I am unfortunately too large to buy children's sizes, and totally the wrong shape to fit many men's clothes, but I'd certainly buy men's boxers if I wore that kind of thing to bed. (Personally, I sleep in nothing and prefer to wear nightgowns to PJs or other things fitted to the legs around the house. I just find them more comfortable. Always have-I refused to wear PJs back when I was 3, lol.)

My Little Secret - see msg

[ In Reply To ..]
This thread is funny. Well, before I tell you my little secret, I will tell you that I just wear a night-shirt. Love it. I live in Southwest FL, so I don't usually need much else year round.

Anyway, to my secret: I tried on a pair of my husband's men's briefs just for the fun of it. I'm not terribly overweight, but I have a biggish belly. OMG, were they comfortable---more comfy than any women's underpants I've ever worn. I've been tempted to wear them as a regular thing to work (I don't work from home), but I'm always afraid of getting in a car accident and being found in them. Maybe I'll start wearing them when I'm home, but then, I'd be afraid if there was a medical catastrophe, I'd be found out.

I just say go for it, whatever floats your boat!

Your Little Secret - Suzy

The woman who turned me on to wearing boxers for sleeping also wears them during the day. She gave up underpants a long time ago because they were way too expensive. I asked her the same question, "What if you get in an accident and have to go to the hospital?" She said, "So what? It's my business what I wear. I could not care less what they think." I say, good for her.

ONe of the questions on the MMPI is whether you have a fantasy life that no one knows about.  Which I do.  So I got to wondering, does everyone? Maybe it's normal?  We are not talking about sexual fantasies, but more like the old imaginary friends kind of fantasy life.  I have never EVER told ANYONE about my fantasy life, which has been going on for probably 40 years.  I have very well developed characters with names and histories.  When I'm alone I replay ...

Menopause Question With Explicit Personal TMI.Mar 12, 2015
Explicit personal anatomical information below -  do not read if offended or prudish.       Wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms and how did you resolve them. I think I may have started menopause and have done some research on my symptoms.  Seems like dry tissues and URI are a symptom, of which I have had both.  Very rarely do I get URIs, but after this one was resolved  (I hope), seems like i have somewhat dry but itchy and somewhat achy ...

Need advice. My son is 40 and has 2 children ages 12 and 14.  He is getting divorced but that's not the main issue.  For the past 20 years he has been sporadic in sending christmas cards/gifts, birthday and mother's day cards/gifts.  His wife would often cover for him but only some of the time.   I don't believe I have ever had a card, phone call or gift for mother's day.  The last few years I have gotten nothing on any of the aforementioned "sp ...

Personal OpinionApr 09, 2011
Since it seems that only rich people run for office...perhaps we should make campaign contributions illegal.  Make these politicians foot the bill.  The amount of money wasted on politicians for their campaigns would put a nice dent in our nations deficit.  Would also get rid of this crony capitalism and perhaps get some politicians who actually will do the right thing instead of doing what their biggest campaign contributors want them to do.  Just a thought.  I'm j ...

Physical/Personal Qualities?Jun 08, 2010
Which would you prefer when looking for a mate? Personal Qualities or Physical Qualities? Why would one win out over the other to you? Guess ya'll are wondering why I ask this question? The answer is this: this guy that I know says he wants his mate to be average build (physical quality)and have certain personal qualities and won't settle for less than he wants. He's in his 50's by the way. My side of the argument is this: if my personal qualities are met then I'm ...

I'm always facinated at some people who think all social problems and situations are so black and white.Abortion is here to stay, whether it's legal or not, just like it's always been an option when a woman finds herself facing the impossible situation of an unwanted pregnancy. QuestionMar 22, 2010
Okay, here is a question that I have not seen come up here.  While watching news today this just crossed my mind.  If the government sets an insurance rate you have to pay based upon what you make per year, do they take into account all your other bills, and that sometimes as ICs we don't get any work coming in at times, and then what they set is more than what you can afford (i.e. more money than your paycheck and you still have to pay all your bills).  As ICs I'm sure ...
