Pres. Reagan responsible for Ferguson

Posted: Nov 30, 2014

Trickle down economics did not work and will not work.  There are those still purporting its value.  These people are some of the same that are just fine with the divisions in socioeconomic classes in America.

Trickle down economics is fueling the Ferguson movement.

Wrong - This has nothing to do with Reagan or trickle down economics. - Mrs. Tingles - sm

Trying to blame something that is Obama's fault on President Reagan is not only flawed, but is despicable and anyone who thinks that should be ashamed of themselves. This is Obama's fault that Ferguson got the way it did. However, not Obama's fault for how MB grew up. It's nobody's fault except MB and MB's parents. No politician forced MB's father and MB to be gang members of the bloods. No politician forced MB to rob and murder people nor his father. What they did in their lives has nothing to do with politics, it has everything do with with being a human being. These people have no human being qualities. They are just thugs running around taking and destroying. It was not trickle down economics that forced MB to steal cigars or beat up people and murder people.

It is Obama's fault, along with Holder, Sharpton and others that what Ferguson is going through. And it is the fault of the people (and I used that term lightly) who think it's "fun" to destroy and steal because this government is allowing them to.

Your post shows what is wrong with people in society. Trying to blame yet another failure of Obama on a republican president. What's next? This is President Roosevelt's fault or President Grant's fault. Hey how about this is President Lincoln's fault. No, this is Obama's fault.

Even wronger still, Mr. T. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I hope you don't mind if I take a page from your book: Your post shows what is wrong with people in society.

There is simply no evidence (none) that Michael Brown was a gang member or murdered people.

Far too many media outlets play it fast and loose with information in the hopes that impressionable and biased readers will fail to think critically or do their own research.

Sadly, these outlets know exactly what buttons to push in order to manipulate their readers. It just a terrible, terrible shame when people believe this nonsense and repeat it.

No one else.

MB CHOSE to get high that day.
MB CHOSE to steal.
MB CHOSE to bully a store owner.
MB CHOSE to block traffic.
MB CHOSE to attack Officer Wilson.
MB CHOSE to attempt to confiscate Officer Wilson's gun.
MB CHOSE to put his hand in his pants, possibly pretending to have a gun himself.
MB CHOSE to charge at Officer Wilson "like a bull" by witness description.

There was no murder here by Officer Wilson. Sad part is, Libs are too blinded by their misdirected ideology to see that MBs actions contributed entirely to MBs death. Had MB CHOSEN not to do those things and conducted himself as a law-abiding, normal, responsible individual, none of us would even know who he was.

Libs act like the police, rather than do their jobs they are sworn to do, should turn a blind eye, let anarchy reign, UNTIL OF COURSE IT AFFECTS A LIB (see Ayers calls to the police when he felt "threatened"- yeah, this is the same man that bombed police stations). Libs have an aversion to researching the truth; so, pretty sure they will ignore what does not fit their race-baiting agenda.
You are spot on with everything you wrote. - Debi

It's about time people take responsibility for their actions.
Debi's post says it all. People want rights, but no responsibility. - Two separate issues.
[ In Reply To ..]
Of course people of all color should expect equal rights. That may not always happen, but it also does not have to be a racial thing either. If the police department in this community is corrupt, that should be handled differently that rioting. That is a citizen's responsibility. MB also had some responsibility here, and it is a crying shame that he had to die over a simple misdemeanor. This was simply because he felt he had the right to get high, rob a store, resist arrest, and attack a police officer. Now if I were the police officer, I would have tried to avoid that death. I seriously do believe it was handled wrong. What did this community think should have happened? Did MB bring his on himself? Yes. Should the citizens be outraged? Yes.

Regarding rights and responsibilities, these people do not have the right to loot, steal, burn, destroy businesses and the lives of innocent people who had nothing to do with any of this. They too should be arrested, and if resist, should be tazed, gassed, or shot, depending on the circumstances. They are breaking the law.

If I attacked a cop and he pulled a gun on me, and ordered me to stop....what do I think is going to happen if I don't? There are points to both sides of this, but 2 wrongs do not make a right.

I hope MB's parents find closure. I hope Wilson finds peace. I hope the rioters find a job!!

There are 3 adjoining communities they are Ferguson, Dellwood and Jennings, MO I live in Jennings about 5 minutes from the protests in Ferguson. We have been putting up with mistreatment by these three police departments for the 26 years I have lived here. Darren Wilson came from the Jennings police department. The whole department was disbanded because of how they treated the minority community.

FERGUSON, Mo. — The small city of Jennings, Mo., had a police department so troubled, and with so much tension between white officers and black residents, that the city council finally decided to disband it. Everyone in the Jennings police department was fired. New officers were brought in to create a credible department from scratch.

That was three years ago. One of the officers who worked in that department, and lost his job along with everyone else, was a young man named Darren Wilson.

Some of the Jennings officers reapplied for their jobs, but Wilson got a job in the police department in the nearby city of Ferguson.

On Aug. 9, Wilson, who is white, killed unarmed black teenager Michael Brown after Brown and a friend had been walking down the middle of a street.

Wilson, 28, has completely vanished from public view. He has not explained publicly what happened in that brief, lethal encounter.

His lawyer did not answer phone calls or e-mails. The police union is mum.

His ex-wife is publicly silent. His friends aren’t speaking out.

His mother is long deceased, and there is no sign of his father or either of his stepfathers.

Wilson is under the protection of the Ferguson Police Department, which has chosen from the beginning of this case to opt for obscurity rather than transparency. The department did not reveal Wilson’s identity for nearly a week after the fatal shooting of Brown. By that time, his social media accounts had been suspended.

But everyone leaves a record, and Darren Dean Wilson is no exception.

People who know him describe him as someone who grew up in a home marked by multiple divorces and tangles with the law. His mother died when he was in high school. A friend said a career in law enforcement offered him structure in what had been a chaotic life.

What he found in Jennings, however, was a mainly white department mired in controversy and notorious for its fraught relationship with residents, especially the African American majority. It was not an ideal place to learn how to police. Officials say Wilson kept a clean record without any disciplinary action.
You have completely missed the point. - Debi
[ In Reply To ..]
No use trying to explain. You believe what you want to believe. It does not make it right. Maybe someday you will be able to understand the difference between upholding and breaking the law and the consequences thereof.

That's ok with you. This response from this community is not reaction to this one incident; it is a cumulative problem, it has been ongoing for decades, this is just the drop that made the cup overflow. arrested, one would assume not convicted, of second degree murder (I cannot believe it would get past the media if he had served time at Juvie) there is still no reason that Darren Wilson should shoot that many times and execute him without a trial, EXCEPT FEAR. Darren Wilson is unfit to be a police officer, as far as I can tell, he realizes that and has resigned.

Also, I believe it would have been fair game in a Grand Jury revelation for Wilson to have stated if he had prior knowledge of Brown's reputation as a bad guy, setting up reasonable fear for his life, and as far as I can tell that didn't happen either.

and even then, it's tough to get them.

There area few requests for his records. Whether they get them or not is another thing.

All of it is speculation. But it's been posted that he had 3 or 4 felony assaults and thefts....I did hear that he was being investigated for being involved in a second degree murder case. Whether it was he who did it or an accomplice, no one knows yet and I truthfully don't believe no one ever will.

As for Snopes, they can't make a judgment either because they don't have the records and no way to get them.

I would be happy to read any references to the contrary, but this is all I got right now:

"The list of charges that are ... proffered as documenting Michael Brown's criminal record above appear to have been drawn from a Missouri court search in which someone found a case involving some OTHER Michael Brown and mistakenly assumed that person was the teenager killed in Ferguson. However, that case record ...referenced someone with a similar but different name (Michael R. Brown vs. Michael Brown, Jr.), who lived in a different Missouri town (Troy vs. Crestwood) and was born in a different year (1997 vs. 1996) than the Michael Brown who was shot in Ferguson.

I don't mind if you disagree with me, but it does not mean you are correct. The article you cite was updated on Sept 3 to reflect the following:

"A Missouri court official said Wednesday that Ferguson police-shooting victim Michael Brown was never convicted of a serious A-level or B-level felony as a juvenile and was not facing any charges at the time of his death, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday. It’s unknown if he was ever charged with any lesser offenses."

Who did Michael Brown murder or how was he involved in a murder? St. Louis Prosecutor's office said he had no prior misdemeanors or felonies against him. Were they lying when they said that? I found some ultra-conservative sites that claim there is something buried in Mr. Brown's juvenile records but there is nothing that I could find that backs that up.

That being said, I fail to see how what has happened in Ferguson is President Obama's fault. Is there anything bad that happens in the world that is not his fault?

Key word is "buried." - Yes, Obama's fault.

[ In Reply To ..]
You may have to search a little further to find the information you don't want to believe. You won't like websites I recommend because I am conservative, but the information is out there if you opt to widen your horizons just a wee bit.

As far as this being the president's fault. A lot of it is, yes. He did NOT help the situation the night the decision was handed down by stating it was "understandably disappointing" (paraphrasing). That sends a message, some one would say an obvious message, others would say a subliminal message. Nonetheless, it was a message.

And then comes word that he and Holder instructed the Missouri governor to have the National Guard stand down in Ferguson, but not in Clayton. Ferguson was the flashpoint back in August. What made them think it would not happen THERE again? No, they were feeding those flames. Again, it may help to widen those horizons just a bit.
Cannot argue with Lib's and Obama memes inability - to reason through

the most obvious, common sense logic as they do not possess the ability to think through anything on their own.
