One does not get into Heaven, or even to see the Pearly Gates, by "good works." What you do in life, be it charity or something good for someone else, will not get you across the finish line. You will only see the other side of Heaven by what is in your heart and your belief in God. Nothing else. That is it. You must believe and follow God's ways, or you will not get there. Bible states that very clearly. Charity is good, yes, but it is not a pre-requisite and does not stand on its own merits.
