I think so many people - anon

everywhere are in a tailspin. I've noticed a lot of inattention and lack of focus by people in the service sector - people you call on the phone for information about things. It's almost like there isn't a protocol in place to follow and if there is, some don't know how to follow it.

The dire situation people are placed in right now by all the closures of companies, some laid off from their jobs, unemployment sky high, the panic buying at the stores, the government orders to keep our distance, etc. - all of these things are overloading our circuits.

This is something none of us has ever had to deal with before. Americans, whether Christians or of other faiths, have always been willing to help and give to those less fortunate and in great need. The homeless, though probably the most easiest to become infected in their camps, I'm willing to bet aren't going to be set up in any kind of housing right now during this pandemic. So I can see why church groups would be stepping in to supply them with food, etc.

As for the others who are already on government assistance, I'm not sure about that other than to imagine that the funds provided to them are being stretched very thin right now or possibly their ability to obtain enough food has become extremely difficult, leaving some of them still in need?

The recently laid off workers will have to make every effort to reach out for help. They're a new segment of society now caught up in this terrible situation and will have to make their needs known in a loud way, and I believe they already are doing that - over 3 million filing for unemployment benefits just last week.

The lack of social distancing is a problem in a lot of places around the country. People really need to wake up to the seriousness of this killer coronavirus and get on board with the rest of us who are practicing all the orders and guidelines, and then hopefully we'll start to see less spread of infection and no more deaths. But it's going to take a lot more education and getting the word out - public broadcasting alerts, media announcements, and even each one of us telling others to be aware and to practice the safety guidelines so that we can all get our lives back on track. Take care!
