Yes, leave! - Moi

When I worked in-house at a clinic, we were required to attend monthly meetings. At one such meeting, a professional stated that the average amount of times an abused person leaves and comes back is SEVEN TIMES!!! If I were one to give advice, I would say, don't be a statistic. Make your plan and stick to it and resolve to have no contact with this guy, ever. If he tries, do not respond. Do not give in to momentary moments of weakness. Arm yourself with whatever it takes, be it strong friends you can call when needed, church people, counselors, prayer, organizations such as Al-Anon, etc. The latter really helped me, as I just looked around the room and listened to everyone there and thought, "I really don't want to be like them; I want out!" Another tidbit: At one time, a counselor told me that "boring" is okay, drama is not. It is okay to have an ordinary life; ordinary is good. It will seem strange at first to be without all the drama, but trust me, you will get used to this.
