I think you may already know the answer, but it is up to you to carry it out.
I was once in an emotionally abusive relationship with an alcoholic and the thought that kept coming to my mind was: I would rather be temporarily unhappy alone than be permanently unhappy in a relationship.
I think getting out and socializing is a great idea; however, I doubt very many women would want to be close friends with someone who is entrenched in a relationship like yours. I speak from experience there as well. I lost friends during my time in the abusive relationship. People got tired of hearing me complain and not do anything about it.
Please be good to yourself. You can do this. You are better than what you may think right now.
