I found this posting

Posted: Sep 5, 2013

I found this posting elsewhere and I wonder why nobody has had the courage to state this before, anywhere. I am posting it here to hopefully give some insightful thought into recent occurrences concerning Syria and the United States: "It's weird how Obama wants to avenge the deaths of a bunch of Muslims in Syria, but not the deaths of OUR people in Benghazi." This kind of puts perspective on where exactly the loyalties of this current "president" lies... certainly not with the people of the United States, who pays his salary, insurance, numerous vacations, etc. Are the current affairs of Syria going to be your last attempt to destroy America Obama?? I cannot for the life of me understand why Congress is supporting this. Brainwashed, every one! ;

You are so very uninformed - Let me educate you

[ In Reply To ..]
It's not about "how Obama wants to avenge the deaths of a bunch of Muslims"

What it's about is chemical weapons. These are actually weapons that we know are there and are being used, unlike the supposed WMDs that got us into Iraq. If Syria is willing to use those weapons on their own people, what's to stop them from loading that stuff onto a missile and sending it our way?

That's BS. The OP was 100% correct. - me

BS. That's silly. - nm

You are the one who needs to be educated - fsf

Assad is not responsible. It was an accident and the people who did it came out and said they did it and it was an accident.

Why don't you do some research and learn something before coming on here professing to "educate" others.

Don't you even remember THERE WERE NO WMDs in Iraq.

Syria is not using weapons on their own people.

Jeepers man DO SOME RESEARCH.

What? Dousing multiple rebel-held neighborhoods in NE Damascus - was an acc ident?

[ In Reply To ..]

The videos plastered all over YouTube showing dozens of gas-laden rocket volleys over those same neighborhoods and the ungodly aftermath of hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of men, women and children with pinpoint pupils profusely sweating, convulsing, gasping for breath with snail's pace respirations, hallucinating and screaming in pain are imaginary?  What?

What people came out and said they did it accidentally?  Where's your source?

FYI, 5% of Iranian deaths during the Iran-Iraq war were from mustard and nerve gas.  Link #1 is an article about one of those victims who has been dealing with the aftermath of chemical weapons for 20 years, having had 50 operations on his eyes that have left him with only 20% of his vision and requiring numerous doses of inhalers daily to stay alive. To complicate the issue, he is not able to get anti-rejection drugs necessary to achieve successful corneal transplants because of US sanctions.  He is 44, but looks more like a 70-year-old.

There is a reason no WMDs were found in Iraq.  It's because Saddam had already exhausted his stores on Iranians and during the well-documented attack on the Kurdish town of Halabja in 1988 that killed 3200-5000 and injured 7000-10,000 residents.  Read all about it in link #2, which you should like (since it has 40 source citations), being as how you always research before posting. Be forewarned, the article is extremely graphic in its detailed description of the misery Kurds suffered after that attack.  Or you could take a look-see with the photos provided in Link #3.

I will not get into the absurdity of RW "false flag" protestations, in view of well-sourced classified and unclassified intel reports.  There is no logical way rebels could purchase, steal, confiscate, store or deploy the massive amounts of sarin and rocket delivery systems needed to bomb multiple locations simultaneously, let alone the mere suggestion that they would bomb their own homes and kill their families, neighbors and children.

Assad is not only responsible for the chemical weapons attacks.  The deaths of 115,000+ Syrians and displacement of nearly 7 milliion more are directly attributable to his lust for power and fear of losing it, along with his own life. He will never stop the carnage until he feels he has secured and strengthened his own position, regardless the cost.

I mostly agree with you but I do think no WMDs were found in - Truthhurts

Iraq was not because they were all used, but because they were moved...to Syria and the surrounding allied countries. There are supposedly satellite photos of "before and after" and of convoys moving them out when threatened. Anyone can read the declassified reports on this. I haven't read them for over a year so I don't remember the specifics but anyone can look them up.

Oh, it was an "accident!" Someone - "accidentally" gassed 1400

[ In Reply To ..]
people. Yeah well, no harm done then, I guess! Right!?! Just an accident.

Yeah. Freaking. Right.
Do so "freakin" research for a change - yeah, right back
[ In Reply To ..]
The facts are out there, please research before you come back with freaking and yeah right.
I've read those BS "facts." None of them - mention
[ In Reply To ..]
exactly how this "accidental" launching of a missile happened. None of them are even identified. So we're supposed to believe chemical missiles were "accidentally" launched without any intent to actually do harm, by a statement released by a bunch of anonymous people? And why would these people who will not be named come forth with such a confession, if the very side they are rebelling against is taking the blame for this attack? What would be the point in that? They suddenly don't want the regime they're fighting against to get blamed for something they didn't do? They're protecting the regime's honor?

Again--Yeah. Freaking. Right.
Again with the freaking? - Funny thing about facts
[ In Reply To ..]
Facts are not lies or bs.

Again...do some freaking reasearch freakin.

Freaking are the ones who come on here and spout out support to wipe out innocent people. Freaking give me a break. The freaking facts are there, but the freaking posters don't want to freaking read any facts, but freaking listen to the freaking lies.

Since you like freaking so much there ya go.

Again - Do some freaking research. It's pretty easy. Just stay off of MSNBC and all the other lib sites that tell you how to think.
I said "freaking" once in each post, not 12. - LMAO
[ In Reply To ..]
But if exaggeration is your thing, I can see how you could believe such ridiculous claims. You never did say what the motivation would be for nameless people to confess that they "accidentally" fired the missiles...you did nothing but mock my speech and talk about "facts" without dropping a single fact about your claims!

So tell me, what would the motivation be? Why would the rebels relieve the regime of responsibility for the attacks? A sudden change of heart? They wish to be part of the regime? They feel bad for the regime?

What's your opinion on that? Oh, and where are your facts?
It should not have been said at all. Since you like it - so much, thought you would enjoy it

this is not about avenging deaths, OP - sigh

[ In Reply To ..]
Unfortunately, the post you are sharing was written by an ill-informed person with a facile understanding of the events and an anti-Obama agenda.

Exactly. It's about planetary stability to allow global - business to operate peacefully

[ In Reply To ..]
(but especially ours), our military influence in the Middle East now and in future, and, last but hardly least access oil, oil, and oil in a world that's running out of it. And, yes, way down the list we do care about the people being murdered by the thugs who're running their government and hope to help them in the process of taking care of our own BIG-PICTURE interests.

The entire planet has a big-picture interest in the stability of the Middle East. We don't, for instance, give $1.5 BILLION to Egypt every year because we just looove Egyptians even more than ourselves...

IMO, OP, your source is stupid, as well as malicious and ill-intentioned. I can't even give credit for "facile" thinking to such a fool.

I have to say - this

[ In Reply To ..]
how come when Hitler was "gassing", "incinerating", "shooting" Jewish people that no one, not even the United States, intervened to stop him? How come millions died then when the most appalling events ever thought of were happening on a daily basis, and nobody lifted a finger to end it? Each country, nation, state is responsible for whatever transpires there. The United States was not put into the position of policing the entire world. If the people in Syria are so upset with their presidential leadership and feel they are being victimized, THEY should be the ones to do something about it. We can sit here and say stuff like "what if we do not intervene and they start sending missiles our way?" Well, if they do send missiles our way, we deal with that at that time. We cannot run a world on "what if's" They never even asked the United States to help them or protect them in any way. This is an atrocity, to say the least, but it is still none of our business. They would not reciprocate in kind if someone here in the States gassed 1400 people. they would have a party in the streets and cheer the perpetrator on for doing it!! Just like they did during 9/11. They thought that day was GREAT! All they want from us is more money anyway. This was all just a big show of arms to gain more money from us....which we cannot afford to give. Let them deal with their own problems, and leave us to ours.
Brilliant - post!!!
[ In Reply To ..]
Agree wholeheartedly - especially about them not helping us if positions were reversed. Apparently we learn nothing from history.
Turning away while 13 million people were murdered - is a strange example to wish to emulate.
[ In Reply To ..]
"Brilliant" like a reptile's eye.
why is it a strange - example?
[ In Reply To ..]
It certainly proves a point more so than your post does, or thinking, for that matter. The supporters of this action of retaliating against Syrian leaders have seemed to have forgotten that O is proposing violence with more violence. Why should our attacking them be seen in any less of a light than them attacking their own? It does not make any sense.
The reason no one intervened during Hitler's time - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
was because no one knew it was happening until Germany was defeated. Not even the people who were not part of the military in Germany knew it. They just knew that their friends and neighbors went to a concentration camp. Only those in charge of the gassing knew what was going on and the people who were going to be gassed didn't even know..they thought they were going for a shower.

If you watch the History Channel at all, they had a whole series on Hitler's war. Shocking to say the least.

Sad to say, our country WAS put in the position of policing the world because we WERE the superpower and other countries looked up to us and our enemies didn't cross the line. We had the best military in the world, the best weapons, and the best technology. We are falling behind now, unless there are some secretive developments -- which I doubt because someone would leak it -- that put us back on top.
I'm sorry, but with as many people - that were involved
[ In Reply To ..]
in Hitler's rampage on the Jewish, there HAD to be many, many who knew exactly what was going on. There were concentration camps everywhere..there were trains that took the Jewish to these camps. People had to run the trains... there were people who lived near the areas of these camps. I am sure that there was absolutely no one who did not know what was going on.. There had to have been. Something of that mass you just cannot hide. They knew... They may have been "afraid" to say anything, but I am sure a lot more people involved knew about what was going on and never lifted a hand to stop it.

we may have been a super power at one time, but we are not any longer, thanks to several decades of so-called leadership who allowed us to become a point of ridicule and hatred. These same countries who hate us have their hands out for the money we provide to them in order to get a share of their oil reserves and then laugh at us because they feel they have the control, which they do. Attacking Syria is not going to make us a super power again.. it is not going to make us feared and respected by any other country. I highly doubt we will ever be "back on top" again, because we rely too much on what these other countries are controlling us with... the only thing they have to offer... oil.
That's completely, absolutely not true. What is - true is that most people imprisoned
[ In Reply To ..]
before Germany invaded Poland were just worked and starved to the point that death was common in camps in Germany. The invasion far into central Eurasia was when they set up "death camps" far from industrialized population centers, so it did take a while for the word to get out from enough different sources, escaped prisoners, resistance workers, and local populations, that incredulous journalists and leaders finally HAD to believe it.

The deniers who "never" knew? Oh, they existed all right. Today's deniers of much they secretly support by claiming it doesn't exist are their counterparts.

BTW? FIVE MILLION people murdered in the Holocaust were not Jewish. Many Christian ministers who tried to stop what was happening, for instance, were arrested and sent on that final journey to the death camps.

Those who did nothing also did nothing for those people, and, believe me, American ministries knew. Some stayed silent in the face of overwhelming evil, others tried to get us to act.

Did you miss this? - sm

and just because the US is now charging a group in Libya for the attacks does not mean that the US came to the aid of their OWN people or even threatened another country for perpetrating these attacks. They never did anything until the people of the US started holding their own govt to task for NOT reacting. O was very quick to jump to the aid of HIS people when he discovered they had been "attacked" internally, but did nothing.... for MONTHS... concerning one of our own. Charging the Libyans now is just a bandaid to keep the US people satisfied, and the heat off of himself.

Found Something In My PieJan 30, 2012
Last night I purchased a pie from a large chain grocery store that bakes on the premises and whose reputation is very good. I bought it for the others in my house, but decided to taste it this morning after they raved about it. I put my fork around what felt like a large chocolate chunk, put it in my mouth, and it turned out to be a metal frosting decorator tip. I didn't bite it or swallow it, as I was going to let it melt in my mouth to just savor the one bite I was going to indulge in. ...
