part-time employment

Posted: Jul 3, 2010

Good morning, please pray for wisdom and direction AND an opportunity for a part-time work from home job.  I am a single mother of four children.  I work full-time for the state, however my income does not cover my monthly expenses.  My ex-husband died three years ago.  Social Security goes by what you put in and he could never hold a job for very long...consequently what my two youngest children receive helps some but not enough.  Money has always been tight and I just kept robbing Peter to pay Paul.  Unfortunately due to a car accident 1 1/2 years ago, and issues that have arose with the children trying to deal with the loss of their dad, there is no longer an options to juggle things around.  Things are getting pretty scary and am not to sure what to do.  With the jobs situation, it has been difficult to even find a part time job to help supplement.  Sooooo, here I am.  I was looking for something I could do at home after work.  I am excellent at typing, I have a degree (from 25 years ago!) in Executive Secretarial, although in my current position at work I do not use it. I am attending school right now to get my Associates in Business Administration and will continue on to get my BA.  So taking a class to learn something new is not out of the question.

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer....when I saw there was a prayer board on here...I immediately decided I would request prayer.  Again, please pray for direction, wisdom, and that perfect part time job that would give me what we NEED...not what I want.

Thank you so much for your prayers.  I will also pray for those that have asked.

Dear Cilla,

You are not alone! I am a single woman with a current MT position whose income was just cut over $500.00 per month and I have been seeking an opportunity to work a second job - it is very tough right now for anyone - no matter how much experience you have to find a decent position that pays you what you are worth. Don't give up though - I truly believe that if you believe in the power of prayer, it will work for you and you will acquire what you need to survive. I will pray for you and your family. Good luck to you and God Bless You!

Gigi

Best Wishes - faraday

EmploymentJun 30, 2011
I am asking for prayers that I find employment very soon.  I have no money coming into my family as my unemployment has run out.  I have been unemployed for over 2 years, but I did return to school during this time in the hopes of it helping me to find work.  I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for the past couple months over my unemployment status.  I pray daily for the Lord to show me His plan for me.  God Bless all of you and thank you for your prayers. ...

The New October Employment FiguresNov 05, 2010
U.S. employment increased more than expected last month as private companies hired workers at the fastest pace since April, offering more signs of an up-tick in a sluggish economy.  Employment in October was supported by the private service-providing employment, which jumped 154,000. Temporary help services, a harbinger of permanent hiring, increased 34,900 from 23,800 in September.   2010 has had more private job creation than during the entire 8 year tenure of George W. dysfunctional for people who have been out of work longer than that." For those who resented the positive news I posted of a continued decrease in unemployment, AND for those who are always interested in more of the story, good times and bad, I post this. But this time our governments,  instead of creating jobs in a severe recession, in response to our de ...

Every one of them has serious flaws, either of character, personality, world view, experience, or philosophy - and in most cases more than one of these - that I simply cannot stomach. In my experience, it's always a choice between the lesser of two evils, but this election cycle seems to have brought out a spectacularly miserable collection of candidates.  And yes, Sanders and Trump supporters, I mean them too - or perhaps especially them too. It looks like I'll be sitting on my ...

Hi again all. I have an update from my post earlier about the job hunt. Well, I just received a phone call from a hospital about 30 miles away that I applied to back in February. This is an in-house full-time MT position, mostly VR, but paid hourly. It would be M-F second shift (3-11 p.m.) with a rotating weekend schedule where I would have to work a Sat/Sun every 12 weeks or so (depending on the rotation). There is a $1.25 shift differential for working nights. Training is a full year to get up ...

Is Democracy Viable? By Thomas Sowell Those who see hope in the Middle East uprisings seem to assume that they will lead in the direction of freedom or democracy. There is already talk about the "liberation" of Egypt, even though the biggest change there has been that a one-man dictatorship has been replaced by a military dictatorship that has suspended the constitution. Perhaps the military dictatorship will be temporary, as its leaders say, but we have heard that song before. What ...

Four More Years Of This? This Is The Part Of The SpeechSep 12, 2012
There was plenty to dislike in Obama's speech. The language was flat, his delivery languid. The speech was stuffed with standard Obama chestnuts about the smallness of politics, the corrupting influence of money in politics, and how cynicism is our worst enemy. Instead of stirring rhetoric filled with hope and promise, Obama pledged that under his leadership, "our path is harder" and "our road is longer." Seriously? After four years of the worst economic recovery since the Depression, fal ...
