Got rid of my cable for the most part - sm

about a month ago, and the only thing I miss is the guide! Oh, and the Hallmark Channel. I have been watching my primetime shows on my computer on hulu, (not hulu plus, don't want to pay). I still have my little bedroom TV that I leave on while I'm working for another voice in the house but all my favorite shows are gone on TVland and Nick and whatnot, this evening the only thing on is 30 Rock and Brady Bunch and most of the shows on now I don't understand and don't like either and I despise Alec Baldwin. Friends is supposed to be on but isn't but it's supposed to be on again later. Who knows. Oops, my age is showing. It's lowered my cable bill $40 a month, too. Still have to pay $60 for my RR and she gave me all my other cable for $20.

offering new customers $34 a month and I was paying $60. It took a couple of calls but I got the new customer rate for a year. I only pay that plus Netflix is $7 a month. Redbox gives free movie codes all the time if you sign up for their text alerts. You can watch videos online all the time for free...CNN, Discovery, MSN, pretty much anywhere. I realize now how dumb it has been to spend $90 a month on satellite.

Only thing I miss is QVC. HAHA. - Just Watch It On Tablet

I went with satellite, which is much cheaper and more stations! If I did not need high speed internet, that would have been gone too. way too expensive for what you get in return.

as far as Hallmark, they are showing only Christmas shows at this point. Way too early for a continuous feed of old time Christmas shows though and this will last well into the new year. I am not putting down Christmas shows, but most of them are from 30 years ago, and just portray a time in life that no longer exists. It is almost nauseating to have to watch it over and over and over again. I will not be watching Hallmark until after the new year, probably. All the hype is overrated and just too soon, as Thanksgiving is not even here yet. but I surely like being without TWC cable!!

While I still have cable, TVLand is one of the channels that is not available to me in the bedroom -- just basic cable. You can go into the TVLand website and get full episodes on your computer. I happen to love Hot in Cleveland and it's nice being able to catch up on episodes I might have missed.

I cut cable on 07/01/2013. It saved me $100 a month - no premium channels - just digital package and DVR.

Most networks on have their shows on their own websites - there are some shows that are not, which I discovered is not the network holding out - it's the show producers.

I miss sports, but I found at least NBC does broadcast their Sunday Night Football from their website.

Insurance should cover prescription drugs, such as antibiotics, narcotics, antidepressants (how many here are on THOSE??) and birth control pills. Hi again all. I have an update from my post earlier about the job hunt. Well, I just received a phone call from a hospital about 30 miles away that I applied to back in February. This is an in-house full-time MT position, mostly VR, but paid hourly. It would be M-F second shift (3-11 p.m.) with a rotating weekend schedule where I would have to work a Sat/Sun every 12 weeks or so (depending on the rotation).
