Employment, bills, bills, bills!

Posted: Mar 5, 2010

My husband and I need all the prayer we can get.  I have been out of work for a year now due to outsourcing.  He returned from a year long deployment in Iraq last July and has been looking for employment and found a job that is now not working him and his unemployment ran out right before that and now they are saying he cannot file for unemployment again because that would be considered quitting the job he has now although he has not worked in 3 weeks!  Everything is on the verge of being turned off.  I don't know what else to do.  I've been praying and praying to what seems like no avail.  So I'm thinking maybe it's time to ask for help on the prayer front.  I feel that my faith is all I have left.

Thank you and God bless,

Chelle

I am so sorry for you and your family. Outsourcing has tortured all of us. I've been an MT for 37 years and things aren't like they once were.

As far as your husband, I am so angry at the fact that so many veterans are short changed when they come back home. You would think that as a country we would do more for them.

I am praying for you and yours. Hang in there. (I know "hang in there" doesn't help but I'm at a loss for anything else to say for comfort.)

Trust me, just knowing someone else is praying also is comfort enough for me... - Chelle

You will never believe what happened today. Although there is still no word on the employment front, my hubby had 2 unclaimed checks he claimed a few weeks ago. We thought it would be 3 months before we heard anything else about it after he sent in his claim forms. Take in mind, these are checks from well over 2 years ago. Well, we received the checks today. Enough to pay our water which was about to get cut off and pay on our washer and dryer for the month and get other things up to date for the moment! Hallelujah!!! Thank you so much for your prayers for us!

Luv,
Chelle&Lin

Are you a MT Chelle? - Just curious

And yes, I am. Well actually I was an MT/QA/Editor, but I've been out for a year now :( Really wish I could find something editing again, but I'm hopeful God will point me in the right direction.

I will pray for you, if you will pray for me. My beloved husband, just died eight weeks ago, leaving me with no life insurance etc., after seven back surgeries. I have no way to pay the rent and currently, only work part time.

Definitely praying for you...sm - Chelle

Civil Rights Bills Passed ForAug 21, 2017
Food for thought: “I maintain that every civil rights bill in this country was passed for white people, not for black people. For example, I am black. I know that. I also know that while I am black I am a human being. Therefore I have the right to go into any public place. White people don’t know that. Every time I tried to go into a public place they stopped me. So some boys had to write a bill to tell that white man, “He’s a human being; don’t stop him." That bill was for the whit ...

Big Banks Aim Fees At Those Who Avoid Debt, Pay Bills On TimeOct 27, 2009
Update (at bottom): Senator Dodd calls for credit card rate freeze until new rules take effect Did you pay your bills on time this month? Avoided taking on unnecessary debt? Well, there's a fee for that. Anticipating the implementation of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act in February of next year, big banks are stepping up their aggressive treatment of those who hold cards that may be deemed too generous, or those who are studious in making payments. I'm Sick And Tired Of Paying Hidden Fees On My Bills Oct 22, 2013
like my cell phone has universal government tax to pay for Obamaphones, my internet bill has hidden fees, and my gas/electric bill has $1 dollar added every month to pay for heat during the winter for "those who can't afford it." We pay for this stuff. All the while I'm lowering my lifestyle, growing my own food, walking instead of driving my 18-year-old car....infinity. There, done venting. ...

Senate Fails To Pass Modest Gun Control Bills. NmJun 21, 2016
WASHINGTON -- Just over a week after the worst mass shooting in American history, the Senate failed Monday to advance a pair of modest and popular gun violence reform measures. One would have barred gun sales to anyone who has been on a terrorist watch list in the previous five years or who is "reasonably" suspected of posing a terrorist threat. Another would have tightened the background check system to cover the so-called gun show loophole and all internet gun sales. About 90 ...

Takes a little time to do the research on the bills you listed instead of relying on blog posts by Daily Kos.Guess what I found....Congress (House AND Senate) were controlled by the Democrats when these bills came up for vote - and here's how the votes went. Granted there are two of them I couldn't find the votes for, but the rest of the bills tell a different story than what's being lied about. The New October Employment FiguresNov 05, 2010
U.S. employment increased more than expected last month as private companies hired workers at the fastest pace since April, offering more signs of an up-tick in a sluggish economy.  Employment in October was supported by the private service-providing employment, which jumped 154,000. Temporary help services, a harbinger of permanent hiring, increased 34,900 from 23,800 in September.   2010 has had more private job creation than during the entire 8 year tenure of George W. dysfunctional for people who have been out of work longer than that." For those who resented the positive news I posted of a continued decrease in unemployment, AND for those who are always interested in more of the story, good times and bad, I post this. Note, there is an answer--government to provide additional employment, of all types. We've done it before and it works very well. But this time our governments,  instead of creating jobs in a severe recession, in response to our de ...
