I think that fear on the part of the ...sm

Posted: Mar 21, 2010

insurance companies et al is the driving force behind all the anti reform misinformation and propaganda out there.  Why are they afraid?  They have a HUGE financial stake in this bill.  When this bill passes, whatever its final form, investigations will be begun to root out corruption and waste in all aspects of healthcare, most significantly the insurance companies.  They are also not happy about the new regulations for reining them in, no caps, no dropping people, no refusals because of pre-existing conditions, etc.  How will they continue to pay their executives if they cannot continue to root out the sick people?

Oh, dont worry. Obama will put them out of business and - we will be under Govt control.

You think THAT will be better? HA!

I think it would be better personally.... - My hubs pays a pretty penny for our healthcare

and it just keeps going up while people on welfare sit in the same office as me and get the same care that we pay for trifold. I hope Obama hangs them all out to dry - they deserve it. They also are not physicians but proclaim to be everytime they deny a medication!!!!!!!!! Sick (literally) of it myself!!!!!!!

LDB's Biggest FearJul 07, 2011
If you will recall, Ms. Burdick's greatest fear was "common sense being lost."  That's exactly what happened.  I just heard a woman who was protesting outside the courthouse and she summed up what I feel completely.  She said that jurors should be instructed strongly on using common sense, and not just looking for reasonable doubt.  I know this was mentioned during closing arguments, but it went out the window.  I feel this jury failed us.  If common ...

Anyone In Fear About Debt?Jun 08, 2010
I have been a transcriptionist for 16 years and am back in school full time to get a degree in social work.  I'm shooting for an MSW.  My husband makes roughly 2400 a month.  I have just over 4000 in savings to supplement.  Individually, we are each 25k in debt.  This doesn't include the school loans I will be accumulating in the next few years to achieve my degree.  We also have roughly 1600 dollars a month living expenses (utilities, mortgage, phone, sew ...

NEW YORK -- Inspiring or inappropriate? New Yorkers and runners from around the world debated whether a marathon should be run with disaster for a backdrop. The New York City Marathon is a go for Sunday, with many logistical questions to be answered...... He agrees the race is a boost t ...

Greatest Fear Of Women Over 50May 17, 2011

Extreme Fear If BridgesJan 25, 2011
I have an extreme fear of bridges which keeps me from venturing anywhere there's a bridge.  Even freeway overpasses affect me in a similar manner.   Others either laugh or get annoyed with me, but I'd give anything to not feel this way, to just be like everyone else.   Does anyone have this problem? ...

Deliberate Fear MongeringJul 09, 2016
Okay, radical Islamists threaten us and Obama does nothing. Now police and whites are threatened and again Obama says nothing. This is too much of a co-incidence with two huge threats hanging over all of our heads. Anything to take over the government using the people against each other and an outside threat. Obama protects the Muslims because his background is Muslim. We should not have let him get by without the birth certificate thing immediately, not years later. Now he wants to d ...

Democrats Fear Another Trump TrouncingDec 12, 2016
Leaderless and lacking a strategy, top party officials worry they're not ready for Trump's first 100 days. As Donald Trump’s inauguration draws near, Democrats fear they remain woefully unprepared to fight the new president’s agenda. The party loses its standard-bearer once President Barack Obama leaves office, and the Democratic National Committee won’t get a permanent chairman and staff until March, two months into the presidency. That Democratic power vacuum has raised ...

People In Nursing Homes Have The Most To Fear From Ryan's PlanApr 14, 2011
Those in nursing homes have the most to fear from Paul Ryan's plan, but their families will have to try to support them. That means they will give up (1) retirement funds including 401Ks, IRAs, (2) college funds , (3) homes (4) plans for the future. This is a cruel plan. The part that hurts the elderly effects me as I think of my parents and my grandmother, but it doesn't stop there. ...

Republicans Fear Sequester Gives President Obama Advantage.Mar 04, 2013
By: Jake Sherman and Jonathan AllenFebruary 27, 2013 11:31 PM EST It’s not only the size of the sequester that has House Republicans fretting. It’s not like the GOP expects the stock market to plummet or furloughs across the federal government to drive up unemployment. House Republicans fear the massive spending cuts set to take effect Friday will result in Congress continuing to cede its constitutional power of the purse. Republicans are fretting that the $85 ...

Does Anyone Have A Fear Of Flying? Any Tricks/advice To Help Calm My Nerves?Feb 02, 2016

Deep Thoughts W/Allen West: Liberals Fear Black ConservativesMar 14, 2013
As a liberal myself, I don't think fear of a black conservative has ever crossed my mind. But maybe because I don't have genius Allen West powers of deduction? “I’m speaking from experience when I tell you that there is nothing on this green earth that a liberal progressive fears more than a black American who wants a better life and a smaller government,” West said.   Oh, he also insists that peace comes from the Marine Corps, not the Peace Corps. Call me cra ...

Why Don't Some Consider BC To Be Part Of Healthcare?Oct 22, 2012
Insurance should cover prescription drugs, such as antibiotics, narcotics, antidepressants (how many here are on THOSE??) and birth control pills. Are birth control pills considered different b/c they're related to sex?  Is that what it boils down to? I was put on them at 14 years old by my pediatrician.  It wasn't covered; we had to get them at PP.  Why wasn't it covered?  If I'd had an infection, antibiotics would have been covered. Hi again all. I have an update from my post earlier about the job hunt. Well, I just received a phone call from a hospital about 30 miles away that I applied to back in February. This is an in-house full-time MT position, mostly VR, but paid hourly. It would be M-F second shift (3-11 p.m.) with a rotating weekend schedule where I would have to work a Sat/Sun every 12 weeks or so (depending on the rotation). There is a $1.25 shift differential for working nights. Training is a full year to get up ...

Egypt, Libya, Etc. Part IIMar 02, 2011
Is Democracy Viable? By Thomas Sowell Those who see hope in the Middle East uprisings seem to assume that they will lead in the direction of freedom or democracy. There is already talk about the "liberation" of Egypt, even though the biggest change there has been that a one-man dictatorship has been replaced by a military dictatorship that has suspended the constitution. Perhaps the military dictatorship will be temporary, as its leaders say, but we have heard that song before. What ...
