Prayers go out to Colorado massacre victims.

Upon awakening this morning I turned on news and could not believe what I was hearing. I thought at first maybe this was the anniversary of Columbine shooting. Then on further listening and waking up, I realized this was entirely different setting and present day. Tragically enough, 12 had died at a theater in Aurora, Colorado while watching Batman sequel Dark Knight Rising. Strangely the audience in theater thought this was part of the showing and were not alarmed at first. I cannot begin to imagine the terror inside that theater and what those poor victims went through. Be glad to those who escaped this tragedy and are safe in their homes. Kiss and hug your children and keep a watchful eye on them.

All I can say is why is it we can no longer go to the Ciinema? Do we now have to live in fear that some crazy deranged maniac might be lurking around the corner to shoot us down? Maybe I am being overly dramatic, but in light of what happened, I think we all should be outraged.

I honestly came here for prayers to God. Still at times like this we think God has abandoned us. Why does HE let these things happen? Maybe someone here knows the answer -- I am sure I do not.

and what I am about to say is little to no consolation for anyone having to go through these types of things, but in reading the Bible, most especially Revelations, I know that things like this are SUPPOSED to be happening more towards the second return of Christ. There will be wars, rumors of wars, and uprisings, mother against daughter, sons against fathers. These are all supposed to be signs of Jesus' return. According to the Bible, we are not supposed to be alarmed or fearful of these things, for Believers will be "protected" by Him, although it is hard not to be fearful. I truly believe that as the day of Christ's return to earth quickens, Satan is becoming more "aggressive." I believe he wants to claim as many souls as he can before his "fight" against Jesus and His armies. Also according to the Bible, there is absolutely nothing that we here on earth can do to stop whatever is taking place. It was described as having hooked a fish and Jesus is just "reeling it in" before the end of days. Man had set this in motion many thousands of years ago, and we had many opportunities to change our ways, but Satan convinced man that greed and the other six sins were the "way to go." Now it is too late to change, and we are well on our way to the coming of Christ, and the eventual apocaplyse. Frightening? very much so, and I am right there with you! But please believe that God has not abandoned us. Sadly, it is just the way that things are "supposed to be." All we believers can do is pray and retain our faith in God.

Yes I have read Revelations in the Bible. That would explain a lot of what is going on in the world at this time. especially climate changes too.

Another idea I had was that God probably does not like all the violent movies which we are putting out for our young people to watch. As you said this is Satan's doings in killing all these poor innocent victims. I am sure there is something in the Bible that says "violence begets violence." Sadly this was demonstrated in Colorado.

You guys are right that Satan has become more aggressive in his destructive quest. God is good and sin, pain and suffering did not enter the world through God, but through Satan's disobedience and hell-bent hate for God and everything he created. However, like R. W. Schaumbach used to say, Satan was defeated over 2000 years ago when Jesus died on the cross, but rose again and ascended to heaven. The battle has ultimately already been won; and God can do all things. So, let us stay prayerful and petition God to protect us from such insane carnage. Pray for the whole world, people.

What a sad day for many in Colorado. You go to see a movie you have been waiting anxiously to come out and someone goes psycho and kills a bunch of people. My daughter's college roommate lost both of her parents on Flight #93 a month before her wedding. Truly said even though we did not actually know them. Prayers are asked for the residents of Pateros, WA and other communities in North Central Washington State. Due to dry weather, winds and ligthning, we are having the worst fire season in years. Many homes have been destroyed by fire and people have been left homeless, other communities in our area are threatened. Hopefully we will get rain and the firefighters will get a break.
