Anyone in Ohio - need confirmation

Posted: May 22, 2010

I heard through the rumor mill that Mayor Coleman of Columbus recenty decided to boycott Arizona, but I can't find any confirmation of this.  Can anyone from Ohio (or anywhere else that might know the truth on this) tell me if this is true?

Thanks ;)

This is all I could find - see link

I love how they're banning any city travel to Arizona, but they don't mind keeping the red-light cameras from an Arizona company that make the city money! What a bunch of hypocrits!!!

How about AZ threatening to cut off power to LA? - Rand

"If an economic boycott is truly what you desire, I will be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements so Los Angeles no longer receives any power from Arizona-based generation," Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce said in a Tuesday letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Pierce, who has no authority to cut off the city's electricity, said that he did not intend his letter as a literal threat but that he wrote it to illustrate the close ties between Los Angeles and Arizona and the trouble that a boycott could cause in both places.

"A boycott is an unfriendly gesture," he said Wednesday. "Where do you expect that to go?"

The guy admitted, though, that he doesn't have the authority to actually cut the power to California. He was just trying to point out how stupid the whole thing was. Maybe not the best way to make that point, but then again...

was because I got a copy of a letter on my email from someone that had written a letter to Mayor Coleman saying that he and his family were doing just that; boycotting Columbus, including the airport, restaurants, anything Buckeyes, etc.

Because Voting In Ohio Just Isn't Hard Enough..smAug 10, 2012
Ohio voting just got a little harder, not because early voting has been cut down, and not because of new ID restrictions. That's right. Republicans are doing everything in their power to ensure a win in Ohio. The latest tactic works on a county by county basis. County by county it is decided whether or not to extend hours at the voting sites. Each county has a commission comprised of two dems and two pubs. You would think this would be a good thing to extend hours in this state right? ...

More Obama Trickery For PA, W. Va., OhioNov 05, 2012
President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency has devoted an unprecedented number of bureaucrats to finalizing new anti-coal regulations that are set to be released at the end of November, according to a source inside the EPA. More than 50 EPA staff are now crashing to finish greenhouse gas emission standards that would essentially ban all construction of new coal-fired power plants. Never before have so many EPA resources been devoted to a single regulation. The independent and non ...

The Ohio Man That Killed The ChildApr 02, 2013
I can't stand our justice system, I swear it makes me crazy!  The news article, an Ohio man kills a 3-year-old child by having sex with her and suffocating her, which he ADMITS, but he actually gets a trial, because he is fighting the death penalty, because he didn't mean to kill her, he only meant to rape her!  I mean, WHAT!  He apparently was drunk and mad at his girlfriend (The child's mother) because she wouldn't have sex with him, so he decided to have sex ...

Ohio Gender Gap Poll Likely Explains Romney's Abortion Flip-flip.Oct 11, 2012
Plus a Bloomberg poll said women were moving toward Romney on economic issues but holding back on social issues, especially abortion, confirmed by other pols. So Romney stated in front of cameras that he has no abortion legislation in mind.  Which his campaign staff then routinely denied (following what is now a well-established pattern). Ryan also then said their position on abortion has not changed. Romney's previous positions have been that he is absolutely against abortion. That ...
