You're not hurting me if you don't sign up for Obamacare (sm)

you're hurting yourself. - Said by our Petulant President. The last time I heard this phrase was in high school. He really needs to grow a set and maybe figure out why people aren't signing up for it. Maybe he ought to fix the damn thing. Of course, then the little boy would have to admit he was wrong. Like that's going to happen.

I find a lot of conservatives refuse to even try to find out what they would be eligible for under Obamacare. "Maybe he ought to fix the damn thing." How so? "He would have to admit he was wrong." What about?

Many conservatives will refuse to even go to the website and figure out what they are eligible for, so I do believe he is making sense here. Petulant is a description that I would not in a million years describe our president with, he is cool, calm, and collected. Petulant is what I would use to describe the behavior of individuals who contrarily refuse to help themselves and get covered.

I think he has figured out why they are not signing up for "it" - because they resent him, they wish him to fail, they want the ACA to fail. He knows they are trying to hurt him, and he is pointing out they are not hurting him, they are hurting themselves.

From personal experience, my sister (who is a conservative) was complaining she needs a job with benefits. She works part time, low income, and knowing she would not do this because she is one of those who is obstinately against President Obama the ACA, I found a plan for her on the exchange and emailed her the link, what her premiums would be and what they would cover (only $50 per month with the subsidy and very fair copays and deductible). I have not heard back yet and I doubt I will, I also doubt she will sign up herself, despite being able to afford this.

That is what President Obama means, she is not hurting him, she is hurting herself by not getting covered. Entirely true.

Trying to sign up. Tried online, the program would not let me edit a question (at least an hour), and started changing answers on its own. Called last week, spent over 1/2 on phone getting info. Called back today - spent 2-1/2 HOURS on the phone and, while the healthcare.gov lady was so sweet and tried so hard, she ended up as frustrated as me. It gave me the cost sharing discount (which I was not eligible for) and not the tax credit (which I was eligible for). Her supervisor she went to for help told her "apparently it is a glitch. Tell her to appeal it if she wants." Yeah right.

So, I canceled the whole application. Going to try again Monday. So, to all those who think it is fixed, trust me, it is NOT.

First, I'm really sorry you've been having such a hard time. It's frustrating. After 3 hours sitting on the phone a few weeks ago I hung up and said forget it, I'll wait.

We have been trying to tell people here what is going on. We hear stories on the news of people who want health insurance but are having the same troubles. Here in my state not one person has been able to sign up. Now law suits are pending to find out where all the millions of dollars went to get this set up and running. Heard there is even a law suit going on about why people were kicked out of their insurance without having something in place that is working. Millions of people out of insurance and unable to sign up. According to some democrat politicians there are over 1 million liars and only 2 people are telling the truth (Harry and Obama) and I'm amazed there are people that actually believe those 2 people but don't believe over a million documented cases.

I think he was appealing to the lowest common denominator with the seemingly "petulant" response--like he was speaking to children (not his children, I think they are more mature than the Republican response). You are right, the Republicans will bite of their noses to spite their faces rather than see an iota of success in this President's term. My children attend a school that is so very Republican. Someone said that President Obama would soon be over, I told him that perhaps they would change the law and he could run for that third term.....(hah!)

Well first, there are many who have gone to the website and are not able to sign up.

But first, foremost, and most importantly is that it is not secure. You've got felons and who knows who (that have not had background checks or are bonded or anything) that are taking our personal information. Do you feel comfortable giving your bank account information to someone who could be a criminal. If you do, go for it. Most of us don't. And if this was done under Bush you'd be saying the same thing I am. Sorry but many of us don't. These are not people who have been trained to do this. Also, many of us feel that the website has not been proven to be secure. Sorry, don't feel like entering my name, address, birth date, social security number and bank account information with someone who has a criminal background.

Then of course there is the whole "ick" factor of all this, which has nothing to do with health care. Won't even go into all that.

Then you've got people who did sign up for healthcare and they go to use it and cannot be found in the system. You've got people who are expecting the same level of health care that Obama and his minions get (least we forget Obama's words when trying to pass this farce "you will received exactly the same level of care I get"), yet when they go they are not accepted, can't find any of their information in the system. Then the ones who now cannot keep their same doctor, or the facilities that won't take people in Obama care.

Then of course the faux low premiums and the knowledge that those premiums are going up.

Then knowing that this whole scheme was cooked up by insurance companies to get rich off of it.

Too many more facts going on. I say no thanks, I am not going to be part of the cattle drive. I'll wait as I'm hearing there are alternatives in the works.

I decided to see what type of insurance I qualified for, as an MT. I'm unemployed now, but I put in last year's pay as my income amount. And... COOL! I don't even qualify for regular insurance, I qualify for Medicaid! I didn't before. So yay - now I can afford to go to the doctor when I need it.
