about the teacher who had her students dress in burqas to learn about Islam. Since this was a geography class, that seems outside the subject parameters. Plus, she said she wished she didn't have to teach this, then went on to tell the kids to call terrorists "freedom fighters." Forgetting that outrageous "fact," why is that being taught in geography class?;
SO, my favorite-ever college courses were political and - cultural geography. Physical geography

I've always regretted that I put off religious geography to take another semester of Spanish because it wasn't offered again while I was still there.

[ In Reply To ..]at least consider themselves so? It doesn't depend only on which end of the gun you stand. Some terrorist groups get little sympathy or respect from most who study them, but others get tremendous amounts of both.
In any case, it helps to understand that terrorism IS a military tactic resorted to those who don't have an army to employ in "respectable," traditional-style war.

So first I got a fruit basket delivered today from one of my accounts. Very nice. Then I got my mail and there was a X-mas card from our next door neighbor. They are retired, in their 80s, and live in Florida for the winter. Since we live in an area that has plenty of snow, we (usually me) shovel or snowblow their sidewalk whenever needed.
