The only thing worse than a Gingrich candidacy would be a Bachmann one

We are scraping the bottom of the barrel politivally wise, folks! I'm not making a comment about them personally.

Anything is better than what we have. I need - some change i can

REALLY believe in. Not thrilled with how the last "change you can believe in" turned out. Not by a LONG shot.
I really wish people would stop saying that - Not "anything" would be better

I can't tell you how I cringe when people say "anything would be better". No, not "anything" would be better. Hillary would not be better. Kerry would not be better. Mitt Romney would not be better. Actually he'd be exactly the same. That guy makes my skins crawl. There are too many politicians that would not be better than what is in there. Someone with experience would be better. Someone who cares about our country and economy is better. Someone who could stand up to the handlers would be better. Unfortunately it's already been decided and afraid to say we're stuck for another 4 years. I'm just getting used to that.
While I like President Obama and disagree with most of what you said - It is not a done deal for 4 more years
[ In Reply To ..]
Anyone who is arrogant enough to really believe that it's a done deal could have a rude awakening. At this time, I hope President Obama gets another 4 years. I think he's making steps in the right direction. Okay, we disagree about that, but it is no sure thing that he will be elected again. Much depends on the economy, jobs, etc., and people will be making their minds up at the last minute. Don't be depressed. :)
Well we will then have to agree to disagree - Not "anything" would be better
[ In Reply To ..]
Um, yes it is a done deal and anyone who doesn't consider the possibility and how the corporation we live in is run is just asleep at the Idol.
It has already been decided. When you learn about who is really running the show it's just a real eye opener.
At this time I hope BO does not get another 4 years. Times are worse than ever and no, it's not Bush's fault or that he can't fix things overnight or you can't blame everything on him. I guess mainly because I'm tired of seeing the hate/loathing from a lot of posters if you don't drool over the "dude" (JS's name, not mine).
Actually to tell the truth I guess it doesn't really matter if he gets another 4 years in because he is not in charge and not making the decisions. He just does what he is told to do and signs what bills he is told to sign. They always say that the people of the country need someone stupid (like Dubya) so they can continue to control them and it's no different now.
Things are just bad all over. I don't care whether I see BO's face or anyone else anymore. They don't run the show and they don't make the decisions.
But like I said, it's a done deal of who they will put in. And if BO is reelected I will then say "I told you so".
The only thing worse would be someone - further to the left than

Obama is. ANYONE who understands the seriousness of the deficit issue and the need for hard choices to cut spending NOW would be immeasurably better. Whether that person be Democrat, Republican, Independent, whatEVER.
I really wish people would stop acting like another Obama term is a GOOD THING under ANY circumstances.
The Republicans blocked stopping the oil subsidies. - We need to cut spending
[ In Reply To ..]
Why did they do that? We could have made progress if the Republicans had not been so 'political' about it, refusing to vote for anything put forth by President Obama.
They want to encourage domestic drilling - and help us get less
[ In Reply To ..]
dependent on foreign oil and stop spending billions with OPEC when we could be spending those millions into our own economy....please try to see the big picture here. INcreasing domestic drilling will also give people jobs, on the drilling rigs, pipeline workers, oil field supply companies and their employees, yada yada. It will help stimulate the economy, help bring gas prices down...they did not vote for it because Obama put it forth, they voted against it because the economy needs serious HELP here. It is the Democrats who were playing politics...except the ones who voted with the Republicans, those being Dems from big oil-producing states. Yes, to save their jobs, but they also understand that the oil industry is vital to many states and vital to this country. There will not be easily afforable alternative forms of energy for many years to replace oil, and certainly not soon enough to save our economy.
Please try to see it objectively.

From The Washington Times, by Newt Gingrich
Donald Trump is a genuine phenomenon. He may or may not become the Republican nominee for president. He may or may not win the presidency even if he becomes the nominee. Yet it is clear that he is a phenomenon and that any history of the 2016 presidential race will have to spend a good bit of time analyzing Trump and his impact.
